Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 action comedy film co-written, produced and directed by Edgar Wright, based on the graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley. It stars Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, a slacker musician who must win a competition to get a record deal and battle the seven evil exes of his newest girlfriend Ramona Flowers, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It also stars Chris Evans, Brandon Routh and Mae Whitman as some of the evil exes, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin and Alison Pill as some of Scott's friends, and Brie Larson as Scott's own evil ex. In this special episode of the Blood of Kings a Highlander Podcast your hosts Kevin & Lee interview a very special guest. We are proud to welcome legendary movie production and location manager Edwin 'Itsi' Atkins!

Edwin was the Production Manager for the original 1986 Highlander movie during the New York filming locations. Edwin's vast experience of production management and working within the New York area made his involvement on the legendary 1986 Highlander film an obvious choice. We discuss with Edwin many topics with his experience working on the New York locations on the original film, including some of the challenges and some scenes that were filmed, but never made the final cut of the film.

Edwin also discusses his experience getting into the film business, casting Denzel Washington in his first paid roll, and working on many other films before and after Highlander like Clear and Present Danger, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Remo Williams the Adventure Begins, The Big Easy, Avenging Force and Out for Justice.

TROPIC THUNDER Plot Synopsis:

to make the war movie to end all war movies, the British director, Damien Cockburn, assembles an A-list of prima-donna actors--Tugg Speedman, Jeff Portnoy, and Kirk Lazarus--to turn into a Vietnam epic the authentic memoirs of the burnt-out veteran, "Four Leaf" Tayback. However--with the movie already behind schedule, and the producer threatening to abandon the project--the ambitious filmmaker drops the cast in the impenetrable Vietnamese jungle to add a dash of realism, unbeknownst to them that the entire region is controlled by an armed-to-the-teeth heroin-producing gang. Now, amid a glorious improvisation extravaganza with live ammunition, the stars of the show will have to step up and work together for the first time in a long while. Do they have what it takes to get out of there in one piece?

Lee and his mother both enjoy this classic western, starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford, and talk about what it was like seeing this movie in the days before rentals and what it was like for Laura to introduce her son to her favorite movie. This movie is one of Lee's and his mother's most rewatchable and this represents everything that Couch Potato Theater is all about!

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) Plot Synopsis:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a 1969 American Western film directed by George Roy Hill and written by William Goldman. Based loosely on fact, the film tells the story of Wild West outlaws Robert LeRoy Parker, known as Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman), and his partner Harry Longabaugh, the "Sundance Kid" (Robert Redford), who are on the run from a crack US posse after a string of train robberies. The pair and Sundance's lover, Etta Place (Katharine Ross), flee to Bolivia in search of a more successful criminal career.

Florian is one of the founding members of the first Willrow Hood Costume Group members and was part of the first Willrow Hood run at Star Wars Celebration Convention on Orlando 2012. Who is Willrow Hood? Well Kevin and Florian discuss the legendary Star Wars character hero Willrow Hood from his first small cameo in Star Wars The Empire Strikes and his other appearances throughout the Star Wars Legends expanded universe. Kevin and Florian also discuss their own experiences with in the Willrow Hood Costume group and many of their own Willrow Hood runs throughout the years.

Robert "Bob" James Gilbert Anderson (15 September 1922 – 1 January 2012) was an English Olympic fencer and a renowned film fight choreographer, with a cinema career that spanned more than 50 years and included films such as Highlander, The Princess Bride, The Mask of Zorro, The Lord of the Rings, and Die Another Day. He was regarded as the premier choreographer of Hollywood sword-fighting, and during his career he coached many actors in swordsmanship, including Errol Flynn, Sean Connery, Antonio Banderas, Viggo Mortensen, Adrian Paul, and Johnny Depp. He also appeared as a stunt double for Darth Vader's lightsaber battles in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Your Blood of Kings hosts Kevin and Lee discuss Bob Anderson's legendary career and talk about their favorite Bob Anderson movie and television sword fights. Kevin and Lee also discuss Bob's turn on working on the first two season as the sword master on the Highlander TV show.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a 2009 action film based on the toy franchise created by Hasbro, with particular inspiration from the comic book series and toy line G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. It is the first installment in the live-action G.I. Joe film series. The film was directed by Stephen Sommers.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a 2013 action film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy, comic, and media franchise. It is the second film in the G.I. Joe film series, and is a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, while also serving as a soft reboot of the franchise.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) Plot Synopsis:

Two soldiers stationed in Kazahkstan (Captain Duke Hauser and his partner "Ripcord") are ordered to transport special warheads created by MARS, an arms' manufacturer controlled by James McCullen. When they are attacked by thieves (led by Anastasia DeCobray, with whom Duke has history), they are saved by a top secret, international special forces unit known as "G.I. Joe". The leader of G.I. Joe, General Abernathy (or Hawk) is on the trail of the thieves: an evil organization called "Cobra". While Duke and Ripcord train to join the Joes, McCullen ("Destro") is secretly working for Cobra and plotting to recapture his metal-eating "Nanomite" warheads. Duke and Ripcord (with help from Heavy Duty, Snake Eyes, and the rest of the Joes) must prove that they are Real American Heroes -- by stopping the launch of these warheads before Cobra uses them to take over the world.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a 2013 Plot Synopsis:

The G.I. Joe team is framed for crimes against the country by Zartan, disguised as the President, and Cobra Commander has all the world leaders under his influence, with their advanced warheads headed towards innocent populaces around the world. Outnumbered and outgunned, the surviving team members form a plan with their original leader, General Joseph Colton, to rescue the President and face off Cobra Commander, his accomplices and the world leaders.

Join Kevin, Lee and Aaron as they take a look back at these fan favorite action films that G.I. Joe fans finally got to see come to live action. Both of these films are very rewatchable, and they represent everything that Couch Potato Theater is all about.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Plot Synopsis:

Through contact with a mysterious ooze, four turtles in the sewers of New York mutate into intelligent pizza-loving humanoids, and are mentored in the art of ninja combat by the wise rat Splinter. When the evil Shredder attempts to take over the world, the turtles set out to stop him.

In this special episode of the What A Piece Of Junk a Star Wars Podcast, guest host and Fandom Podcast co-founder Kevin Reitzel hosts a "Virtual Hangout" discussion with his first 501st Garrison, the Georgia 501st Garrison who some members are also part of the Georgia Bespin Base Rebel Legion. The 501st and Rebel Legion are the world's largest volunteer costume groups for the Star Wars fan community. The Hair Metal Podcast cover bands that reached several levels of popularity and notoriety during the mid to late 1980's "Hair Metal" explosion. We take an in-depth look into the bands that defined the style and sound of Hair Metal, and many other bands that may or may not be categorized as Hair metal, but did reach some popularity during the Hair Metal rush of the 1980's.

Kevin Reitzel is your host for The Hair Metal Podcast. Kevin's special guest for this Hair Metal Podcast episode, is Shan O'Connor! Kevin welcomes Shan back to the Fandom Podcast Network to discuss one of her favorite bands of all time... TWISTED SISTER!

Twisted Sister was originally from New Jersey, and later based in Long Island, New York. Twisted Sister's best-known hits included MTV favorites "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock". Although the band is sometimes regarded as glam metal due to its use of makeup, Twisted Sister rocked hard for may years from the 1970's through the 1980's, and through their reunion shows from the late 90's through 2016. Twisted Sister are also ranked No. 73 in VH1's 100 greatest artists of hard rock.

Kevin and Shan discuss the early years of Twisted Sister in the 1970's and their break out years with MTV in the 80's with their most successful album "Stay Hungry". They also discuss the Twisted Sister's fantastic documentary called " We are Twisted F**king Sister" which can currently be seen on Amazon Prime. Kevin also has a Rock N' Roll T-Shirt check with Shan and also asked her about her recent concerts she's been to and what she's looking forward too.

Join us for this very special edition of Couch Potato Theater as we look back on the 1997 Sci-fi action classic "THE FIFTH ELEMENT". The Fifth Element is a 1997 English-language French science fiction action film directed and co-written by Luc Besson. It stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman and Milla Jovovich.

The Fifth Element Plot Synopsis:

In the twenty-third century, the universe is threatened by evil. The only hope for mankind is the Fifth Element, who comes to Earth every five thousand years to protect the humans with four stones of the four elements: fire, water, Earth and air. A Mondoshawan spacecraft is bringing The Fifth Element back to Earth but it is destroyed by the evil Mangalores. However, a team of scientists use the DNA of the remains of the Fifth Element to rebuild the perfect being called Leeloo. She escapes from the laboratory and stumbles upon the taxi driver and former elite commando Major Korben Dallas that helps her to escape from the police. Leeloo tells him that she must meet Father Vito Cornelius to accomplish her mission. Meanwhile, the Evil uses the greedy and cruel Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg and a team of mercenary Mangalores to retrieve the stones and avoid the protection of Leeloo. But the skilled Korben Dallas has fallen in love with Leeloo and decides to help her to retrieve the stones.

Join Kevin, Kyle and Blair as they take a look back at this classic 90's film and see how it has remained a true classic to this day, and a film that represents everything that Couch Potato Theater is all about.

There is some Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it as Kyle saw Bad Boys for life and Kevin just finished a re-watch of the MCU films.
