- Main plot and sub plot reactions. The ship's deflectors upgrade leads to conflict between the Moclan culture and the crew. Locar tells Talla that he’s attracted to her (which is unexpected, since Moclan’s are an all male species). December 27, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 33: A docking in Spaceport for a new crew and the next Mission

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In this episode of DiscoVille the ship takes on a new look as Norman Lao has moved on to a new assignment and some new crew join Kevin Rietzel and Kyle Wagner on the continuing mission to bring you the latest on Discovery and The Orville.  With that we welcome two very familiar faces to the crew in Amy Nelson and Hayley  Stoddart!

The new crew is here and we begin our briefing with a look ahead to both season 2 of The Orville (Dec. 30) and season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery (Jan. 17, 2019).  We discuss the build up to both seasons and what we are looking forward to after such a long break between seasons as well as what might be changing with them as well.

From there we intercept some subspace signals and discuss the two most recent Short Trek's Calypso and The Brightest Star.

It is a new crew but with the same continuing mission to bring you the best coverage of Discovery and The Orville so join us as we get ready to leave spaceport for new seasons and adventures!

October 10, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 30: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: CUPID'S DAGGER

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

Join Norman, Kyle and returning ambassador Amy Nelson as they continue the QUANTUM DRIVE RE-WATCH of the Orville with episode 9 CUPID'S DAGGER!

This episode opens up with what may possibly be the single greatest moment in the entire first season...

Karaoke night on The Orville was about to reach EPIC proportions as Lt. Commander Bortas took to the stage…DEMANDING silence and attention. However the festivities were cut short as Admiral Halsey ordered ED, KELLY and THE ORVILLE to negotiate a temporary truce regarding the Navarian - Bruidian Conflict over territorial rights to the Planet Lapovius. Both races have agreed to a neutral Union Foresnic Archaeologist to verify DNA found on an ancient artifact on Lapovius that may be the key to which race first colonized the planet. However, tensions escalate from smoldering to explosive, but this time between ED and KELLY as the forensic archeologist assigned to this mission is none other than our favorite Retepsian lothario DARULIO…who Ed found Kelly in bed with nearly a year ago.

After our Quantum Drive Rewatch the crew of Discoville look at some Item's coming out that might make some great gifts this upcoming holiday season!

There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One so let's...ENGAGE THE QUANTUM DRIVE!!!

September 26, 2018

Episode 29: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: INTO THE FOLD

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

Join Norman, Kyle and returning ambassador Amy Nelson as they continue the QUANTUM DRIVE RE-WATCH of the Orville with episode 8 INTO THE FOLD!

As THE ORVILLE sits in spacedock for upgrades to their navigational systems, Dr. Claire Finn is trying to wrangle her two sons so that she can spend some family time with them on a nearby entertainment “play” planet. Needing Lt. Lamarr’s expertise with the nav systems on the Orville, ISSAC was sent in his stead to be Claire’s shuttlepod pilot, with the added benefit of being able to observe Claire’s family dynamics with her sons. From there they all get more than they bargained for as the shuttle is thrown through a wormhole to an unknown planet, where Issac is left in charge of Dr. Finn's children while Dr. Finn tries to escape from a local resident of the planet, in the meantime all of them learning things about themselves.

The of course a look at the subspace signals covering all the happening's for Star Trek and the Orville.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 28: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: MAJORITY RULE

September 12, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 28: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: MAJORITY RULE

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In MAJORITY RULE, as part of an investigation to find a pair of missing anthropologists on Sargas Four (a planet similar to 21st-century Earth) the landing team discovers that all of the inhabitants of Sargas Four wear a SPECIAL BADGE which is the basis of ones social and LEGAL standing in the eyes of the MAJORITY. Social "currency" on Sagras Four is the ultimate influencer which designates every level of social standing from consumerism to criminality and in the case of Lt. John Lamarr - extreme judgement as the result of a crude gesture gone horribly wrong and most importantly...instantly viral. His fate is literally in the hands of the MAJORITY decision and not in the realm of law; or at least a justice system that The Orville crew understands!

Episode 27: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: KRILL

August 29, 2018
Episode 27: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: KRILL

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more! As we continue our QUANTUM DRIVE Rewatch: KRILL presents one of the most moral dilemmas we’ve seen since Episode 3's About A Girl...

Teleya, "Why did you save the children?"
Ed Mercer, "They're kids, with their whole lives ahead of them. They're not my enemies."
Teleya, "After what they saw you do today, they will be!"

Referencing one of the most chilling and poignant scenes, The Orville takes a very serious tonal shift that illustrates how incredibly timely and representational this show can become and perhaps shed a new light on those who believed that this was just Seth MacFarlane's indulgence of a cross between Family Guy and Star Trek. We also have some fantastic Star Trek DISCOVERY news as well, AND because of his guest appearance as SAZERON in Krill...we also have a special interview with JAMES HORAN, that we have revived and added to this DiscoVille episode from an interview that was recorded in late October 2017.

On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

I'm Norm, your shuttle podcaster for this episode and I have a very special diplomatic envoy with me who are hopefully recovering from their whirlwind tour of Star Trek Las Vegas 2018. I am so excited for this episode of DiscoVille because I have two of Trek.fm's best and brightest podcasters with me for this recording - my SESTRAS and two of my dearest friends: From Standard Orbit...their newly minted co-host - Miss Hayley Stoddart and from Earl Grey, The Edge, and Postcards from the Edge...Miss Amy Nelson!

We have taken a small break from our ORVILLE QUANTUM DRIVE REWATCH, but not to worry. We will return to covering all of the shenanigans that is The Orville in time for it's December 30th return to the airwaves. HOWEVER...Star Trek Las Vegas 2018 was just too large of a celebration to not cover. From the apparent overshadowing of Deep Space Nine's 25th Anniversary, to a well deserved celebration for the cast and crew of DISCOVERY and of course the ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE YEAR = Patrick Stewart returning to Star Trek as Jean-Luc Picard!!! Star Trek fans were once again treated to another memorable KHAN-vention and both Hayley and Amy were there for all of the excitement!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 25: EPIC Subspace Signals from San Diego!

July 26, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 25: EPIC Subspace Signals from San Diego!

On this episode of DiscoVille, your shuttle-podcasters Norm, Kyle and Hayley Stoddart (from Trek.fm's Standard Orbit) plot a course through the massive amounts of updated news, images and videos released during this year's San Diego Comic-Con. For several months now, the Star Trek Discovery and The Orville social media news feeds have been slightly anemic, as speculation has given way to rumor and rumor to anxiety...as to when and if either of these shows were going to deliver any new information before the prime time convention season. And both respective fandoms did not disappoint! In fact, they have re-ignited so much excitement in many fans; a feeling that has been dormant since both shows went dark after their respective first seasons.

So please join us as we decrypt as many of these new Subspace signals as we can possibly can before we reach  critical mass and the Officer's Lounge explodes in a big blazing ball of Trailery and Spoilery goodness!!! Yes...there are spoilers for those of you who have not been keeping up with current events - so make sure you watch all of the new releases for both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville because both of their Seasons 2 will be approaching maximum warp and will be rattling the deckplates!!!

Episode 24: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: PRIA

Join your DiscoVille shuttle podcaster co-pilots as they engage the Quantum Drive engine and travel back to October 5th, 2017 to re-live their very first experience with The Orville's 5th episode: PRIA, in this first official re-watch of The Orville here on DiscoVille!

PRIA continued The Orville's upward climb as the Freshman science fiction show for the FOX network. By this time, fans...many of whom were once detractors and critics, began to take note of the incredible social media groundswell of support for this show. Not only was The Orville giving fans something original...it was doing so with a very high level of respect towards Star Trek: The Next Generation; capturing the essence and the optimism of the 90's science fiction. We also were treated to another star powered performance from one Hollywood's biggest actresses as Charlize Theron commanded each and every scene as the gorgeous and roguish Captain Pria Levesque.

There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One so let's...ENGAGE THE QUANTUM DRIVE!!!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 23: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: IF THE STARS SHOULD APPEAR

June 11, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 23: Quantum Drive REWATCH / The Orville Season One: IF THE STARS SHOULD APPEAR

Join Norm and Kevin as they engage the Quantum Drive engine and travel back to September 28th, 2017 to re-live their very first experience with The Orville's 4th episode: IF THE STARS SHOULD APPEAR, in this first official re-watch of The Orville here on DiscoVille! There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One!

IF THE STARS SHOULD APPEAR had the daunting task of following-up one of the most powerful episodes of The Orville: ABOUT A GIRL. However, Seth MacFarlane employed veteran Star Trek director James L. Conway to helm this very "TNG-esque" episode in which we see for the first time on The Orville...the age-old societal conflict pitting traditional faith versus new idealisms that were challenging the status quo. We also were treated to a very surprising cameo of one of Hollywood's biggest stars and one of several ways Seth MacFarlane would have "died in the West". So let's make sure our sodas are in their cup holders and the Bridge Cat is safe and snug as we ENGAGE the QUANTUM DRIVE!!!

Episode 22: Quantum Drive REWATCH The Orville Season One: About A Girl

Join Norm and Kevin as they engage the Quantum Drive engine and travel back to September 21st, 2017 to re-live their very first experience with The Orville's third episode ABOUT A GIRL in this first official re-watch of The Orville here on DiscoVille! There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One!

Many fans believe that ABOUT A GIRL is THE episode that really made both fans of this show and fans from other science fiction fandoms such as Star Trek, sit up and take notice that The Orville isn't a parody, but a well produced and very insightful science fiction dramatic comedy! It is easily one of the best if not THE best episode of Season One.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 21: Quantum Drive REWATCH The Orville Season One: Command Performance

Once again, Norm and Kevin engage the Quantum Drive engine and travel back to September 17th, 2017 as they re-live their very first experience with The Orville's second episode COMMAND PERFORMANCE in this first official re-watch of The Orville here on DiscoVille! There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One!

During this Quantum Drive Rewatch, Norm and Kevin discover new perspectives and even more subtlety and attention to the smallest of details that a first time watch doesn't always allow, which makes their re-watch experience so much more enjoyable. From Halston Sage's brilliant performance as Alara Kitan, to Bortas' full body makeup as seen while brooding his egg, to the incredible world-building of alien cultures seen in the Calavon Zoo...COMMAND PERFORMANCE certainly delivers another incredible episode and is definitely worth a re-watch!

Norm and Kevin also take an in-depth look at THE WORLD OF THE ORVILLE Book by Jeff Bond which is the most complete OFFICIAL resource for The Orville to date. The book ranges from excerpts from some of the most notable contributors to The Orville - such as director Brannon Braga, to writer David A. Goodman, to costume designer Joseph A. Porro and of course so many stories and anecdotes from the man behind it all...Seth MacFarlane.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 18: Quantum Leap Drive - The Orville Season One Retrospective

March 9, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 18: Quantum Leap Drive - The Orville Season One Retrospective

Since the Season Finale of THE ORVILLE on December 7th, 2017, The Orville fanbases online and around the world have been deprived of a show that gained so much momentum and respect for a series that most expected to go nowhere...and some expect to be flat out cancelled as is the FOX network's tradition with most of its science fiction programming.

Season Two has recently started filming so that means its the perfect time to engage the QUANTUM DRIVE and LEAP all the way back to early September 2017 for our REWATCH with a look back at Season One and how it changed and challenged the landscape of science fiction TV as we know it!

We will be covering ALL of The Orville Season One on this and many upcoming DiscoVille podcasts, so this is the PERFECT time for NEW Orvillians to join us. We will also be discussing many of the heavier Star Trek: The Next Generation influences that helped shape The Orville with our special guest star Amy Nelson's expertise, as she draws several interesting parallels between The Orville and ST: TNG.

So let's make sure our sodas are in their cup holders and the Bridge cat is safe and snug as we ENGAGE the QUANTUM DRIVE!!!

On this podcast episode, "It's Been A Long Road…Getting from There to Here", we discuss Star Trek DISCOVERY episode 14: The War Without, The War Within, as The Orville is STILL on hiatus until later this Fall 2018. In just under 50 minutes, this episode delivers so many powerful character building moments and a true bridge from Enterprise all the way through to the Original Series with moments and references that respect the past, present and future of this series as part of the overall Star Trek franchise. This episode also features some of THE BEST scenes from our cast of incredibly talented female cast members. Having so many strong female leads in this show is both refreshing and inspiring!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 15: The Saru-Win Scenario

February 2, 2018
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 15: The Saru-Win Scenario

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this podcast titled "The Saru-Win Scenario", we extensively cover Star Trek DISCOVERY episode 13: What's Past Is Prologue as The Orville is on hiatus until later this Fall 2018. For context...What's Past Is Prologue is a quotation by William Shakespeare from his play The Tempest. In contemporary use, the phrase stands for the idea that history sets the context for the present. In this case...since Discovery takes place approximately 10 years before Kirk and Spock, are we to now believe that certain "firsts" from The Original Series are now no longer that case - such as the "ION STORM transporter beam malfunction" as first seen in the celebrated classic Original Series episode MIRROR MIRROR? Also in this podcast, we celebrate one of the finest moments in Discovery...as our episode title suggests.

Sitting in with us and waiting to kick any traitors to the Fandom Podcast Network into the FPN
s  Spore Reactor is Kyle Wagner...who may be suffering from a little bit of day old Kelpian.

Thanks to everyone out there for tuning in and supporting our show and for making this podcast so incredibly fun to do for all or you. Episode 14: Looking for Lorca In All The Wrong Places

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this podcast titled "Looking for Lorca In All The Wrong Places" - we extensively cover Star Trek DISCOVERY'S Episode 12 VAULTING AMBITION as The Orville is on hiatus until later this Fall 2018. Discovery is certainly living up to it's series name as we are finally "discovering" in this slow burning and dramatic unveiling...who is the REAL Captain Gabriel Lorca...but more importantly...WHY Michael Burnham means so much to him and his plans. Also...we discover that there is a certain Imperial Delicacy and a new meaning behind "Keep your friends close...but keep your Kelpian friends closer!" We also take a moment to discuss "The World of the Orville" - the first "official" book that covers the making of and behind the scenes of Seth MacFarlane's hit TV series on the Fox Network.

Sitting in with us and manning the FPN dining room for this episode is our incredibly talented co-founder, editor extraordinaire and our personal chef who prepares Kelpian as finely as any imperial chef...Kyle Wagner.

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this episode titled "A VoQ in Sheep's Clothing"...as The Orville is on hiatus until later this Fall 2018, we discuss exclusively Star Trek DISCOVERY: Episode 11 A WOLF INSIDE. From character reveals that get dropped on unsuspecting audiences like a Tri-Cobalt warhead...to plot twists and turns more volatile than unstable wormholes, Discovery continues to have audiences clinging on its every storytelling second as no one is exactly who they appear to be in the Mirror Universe. To borrow a familiar phrase...TRUST NO ONE.

Episode 12: Black Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this episode titled Black Mirror Mirror on the Wall, we discuss not only the explosive mid-season series return of Star Trek Discovery (January 8th, 2017), but in lieu of The Orville being on "hiatus" until later this year, we decided to take a look at the critically acclaimed Season 4 Premiere of the Netflix Series BLACK MIRROR titled USS CALLISTER, which was a VERY dark look at an incredibly thought provoking issue...skinned in a very familiar science-fiction franchise.

Sitting in with us and manning the Agonizer Booths for this episode is our Chief Engineer and co-founder of the TERRAN EMPIRE NETWO....I mean Fandom Podcast Network - Mr. Kyle Wagner.

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

Faith Manages: FAITH takes on many forms and inspires so many people in so many different ways, even across the millennia. How one MANAGES their faith is what is at stake in the Season finale of The Orville: MAD IDOLATRY. We are also celebrating several "FIRSTS" of sorts. This will be our FIRST show exclusively covering The ORVILLE because this is The Orville's FIRST SEASON FINALE, as it is our FIRST DiscoVille Podcast Finale for this year!

Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest from Trek. Fm - Miss Amy Nelson and recently promoted to Chief Engineer, we also have co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Mr. Kyle Wagner.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 10: First Officer, Second Guesser?

December 6, 2017
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 10: First Officer, Second Guesser?

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

For this episode it is all about being NUMBER ONE! The FIRST OFFICER is the second most important role on a starship, next to the Captain...but in many ways, the MOST important role because of the pressure they can take OFF the Captain. At least that is what we are meant to believe. A SECOND-GUESSER is someone who attempts to anticipate or predict and in many ways, this is what a First Officer does to inform their Captain of every possible decision making angle. However, in both Star Trek DISCOVERY and The Orville, First Officers Michael Burnham and Kelley Grayson each have "second guessed" their respective captains and, especially in the case of Burnham, caused more harm than the intended good.

Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest and co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Kyle Wagner. And we have another fantastic round with The Omega 13 device and take a look at a very interesting topic for Subspace Signals about an ever escalating budget that may affect Star Trek Discovery moving forward.

November 29, 2017
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 9: Designs of Future Past

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

At times on DiscoVille, we will be on hiatus from actual real time broadcast releases. Not to worry - because aside from discussing the episodes, there are SO MANY aspects to these shows that we also want to discuss with you and for this episode, we wanted to talk about the visual stylization of both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville and how the costuming and prop teams for both series leaned fairly heavily on the Designs from their future's past...in this case The Original Series and ENTERPRISE for Discovery and The Next Generation era of 90's Trek for The Orville respectively.

Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest and co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Kyle Wagner. And we have a very interesting topic for Subspace Signals about a certain photo that was released on Twitter with a certain executive producer of The Orville with a certain former Betazoid Counselor from The Next Generation. Please…speculate amongst yourselves!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 8: Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Firestorm

November 22, 2017
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 8: Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Firestorm

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Firestorm is a play on the old “proverb” as we discuss the events which have led us - the fans and audience of Star Trek AND Discovery - from the 12 year "Dead Sea" of Star Trek on TV - to the premiere of DISCO on September 24th, through to the cliffhanger midseason finale as the DISCOVERY SPORE JUMPED "Out of the Frying Pan" of the Klingon War. Meanwhile on The Orville...Security Chief Lt. Alara Kitan literally ran "Into the Firestorm" of her own worst nightmares. Or were they?

Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest - Hayley Stoddart - who you have heard on several special episodes of CULTURE CLASH discussing Orphan Black. Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections yet again for the Omega 13 device and Kevin brings us some fantastic news about an OFFICIAL The Orville Sourcebook on Subspace Signals.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 7: There’s No Such Thing As Closure.

November 15, 2017

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 7: There's No Such Thing As Closure.

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

We had an AMAZING time recording this show...lots of fun, LOTS of puns, still waiting for BORTAS to drop the hammer on the Karaoke mike...and we LOVED having back on the show with us...Miss Amy Nelson from Trek.fm's Postcards from the Edge and Earl Grey podcasts.

The Title for this episode of DiscoVille is: There's No Such Thing As Closure. Cosmic threads still seem to tie these two shows together as The Discovery's crew needs closure post the Pahvan conflict...and on The Orville, Old Wounds open up once again between Ed and Kelly as they can't seem to get closure on from alien who originally drove them apart.

Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections yet again for the Omega 13 device and our Subspace Signals focus on a great piece of news regarding The Orville's renewal and a wonderful e-mail from a loyal listener.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 6: The Six Degrees of Spockaration

November 8, 2017

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 6: The Six Degrees of Spockaration

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

This episode of DiscoVille is titled "The Six Degrees of Spockaration" because in BOTH episodes, the main characters of SARU and ISSAC respectively, and their storylines, are heavily influenced by and channel several of Spock's most significant moments of character growth as seen on Star Trek The Original Series. On Star Trek Discovery, SARU's plight draws heavily from This Side of Paradise, where "spores" (as represented by the Pahvan, artificially implant a certain serenity and happiness in him, that he feels is worth sacrificing the mission to protect. In The Orville, this episode draws heavily from The Galileo Seven (amongst other shuttle missions gone awry) as ISSAC learns that logic and detachment is not the only way to survive a dire situation.

Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections for the Omega 13 device AND our Subspace Signals focus on why fandom today is so contentious to the point where there can be ONLY one or the other...only Discovery OR The Orville. WHY CAN'T THERE BE ROOM FOR BOTH???

Star Trek Discovery Episode 6: MAGIC TO MAKE THE SANEST MAN GO MAD
Enter HARRY MUDD, who has discovered a devious temporal strategy that can exploit the USS Discovery and her crew - which would allow the Klingons to turn the tide against The Federation. Time in fact does not heal all wounds...and, may even open a few new ones.

The Orville Episode 7: MAJORITY RULE
Captain Ed Mercer and the landing team discover that all of the inhabitants of Sargas Four wear a SPECIAL BADGE which is the basis of one’s SOCIAL and LEGAL standing in the eyes of the MAJORITY. Their mission goes sideways when Lt. Lamarr is caught disrespecting the statue of a beloved public figure. Their only hope...a café barista who accidentally discovers that the Landing Party is not who they appear to be.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 3: The Frenemy Within

October 18, 2017
Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more! On this episode of DiscoVille, we discuss:

The Orville Episode 6
Krill: After defeating a Krill warship attacking a nearby colony, which left a fully functioning Krill shuttlecraft adrift in the debris, Captain Ed Mercer and Lt. Gordon Malloy are given a mission that is vital to culturally understanding the enemy. But what they discover on board a Krill Warship, tests both of their mettle as they have to choose between the lesser of two evils...or even possibly three.

Star Trek Discovery Episode 5
Choose Your Pain: En route back to the Discovery from a Starfleet debriefing, Captain Lorca is abducted by a Klingon D-7 and thrown into a prison cell with Harcourt Fenton "Harry" Mudd (played brilliantly by Rainn Wilson). Mudd reminds Lorca that the "little" people are tired of being caught in Starfleet's crossfire and maybe it was Starfleet’s ARROGANCE to "boldly go" that may have forced the Klingons to push back in the first place.

Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections for the Omega 13 device AND our Subspace Signals intercept a transmission from Social Media that is creating a disturbance amidst the fan communities, and has been for quite some time.
