Blood of Kings 112: Seacouver Tour Chronicles Part 2: Interview w/ Highlander Television Director RICHARD MARTIN!

In April of 2019, your Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast host Kevin Reitzel joined Location Master Andy Sloane for his Seacouver 2019 tour in the beautiful city of Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver Canada provided the filming locations for the fictitious city of Seacouver for the 1990's Highlander TV Show. The first half of each season was filmed in Vancouver, then the second half of the season moved production and location to Paris France.

Andy Sloane has been running these tours of Seacouver / Vancouver for several years. His knowledge of the Highlander filming locations is extensive and very well organized and researched. Your Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel spent a week in Vancouver with Andy touring many locations from most of the Highlander filming locations in the Vancouver area which included many fan favorite episodes and iconic Highlander scenes and locations.

- Our interview for this Seacouver Tour Chronicles Part 2 is with Highlander Television Director RICHARD MARTIN! Richard Martin is a fan favorite Highlander TV Series director. Richard Martin has directed 9 Highlander Episodes:
- To Be (1998)
- Two of Hearts (1998)
- Justice (1997)
- Black Tower (1997)
- Diplomatic Immunity (1997)
- Armageddon (1997)
- The Stone of Scone (1997)
- Duende (1997)
- The Valkyrie (1997)

Kevin interviews Richard about his introduction into the television and movie industry and his experience working on the Highlander TV series. We discuss his work on the popular and iconic episodes The Valkyrie & Duende, and several more. Richard also played tour guide as he joined Andy and Kevin for a day visiting several Highlander filming locations in the Vancouver area including a visit to The Valkyrie meeting hall and the location of the Quickening scene from that episode.

Kevin would like to thank his Special Guest Richard Martin for being on the Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast.

TYPE 40: A Doctor Who Podcast

Episode 26: Series 12 News – Summer 2019

After months travelling the vortex, the Fandom Podcast Network's very own TARDIS returns to 2019 this time. For a full catch up on the long countdown to Doctor Who's return to television next year. Or is It late this year? Yes, there are all sorts of rumours running around like Adipose at the moment. With little coming from the production team themselves, how can host Dan possibly make any sense of it all....?

By roping in two companions from different perspectives of modern fandom, of course. One of the most outspoken figures on You Tube, Noel Glynn brings us a breakdown of filming up to now as well as the general view from The Tardis Zone.

Whilst TV industry professional Simon Horton is back with his perspective on the present and future of our beloved series. Combined with decades of active experience in our fandom. Type 40: A Doctor Who Podcast is proud to offer such a candid, honest and open conversation we know will get people talking. You're not going to want to miss a word!

Culture Clash 133: Showing Scott the ropes and some Wrestling Talk to

On this weeks Clash we continue to show Scott the ropes as Kevin travels and gets settled into his new CA. studio.  We do a bit of clean-up on the fandom news as we discuss James Gunn Starting filming soon on The Suicide Squad which leads into a discussion of Scott's thoughts on the DC Movie Universe as a whole.  Then we discuss Danny Boyle looking to get back into the 28 days zombie business, early casting for the remake of the Stand on CBS All Access, and a strong discussion on recent comments from Mark Hammill on Disney Star Wars.

Then in a little Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it Kyle wraps up the final season as of now of Jessica Jones.

Finally Kyle and Scott dive into a shared Fandom as they discuss the state of Pro Wrestling as it might be in one of it's more interesting points of history with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) here now and the WWE headed to primetime on the Fox network this fall, things are changing and the guys discuss it and their current feelings on the product today.

Kyle has a steel chair and Scott has a Table so let's climb the ladder and let's do this thing.......

Episode 25: FAQ's About Time Travellers II – Adam O'Brien

Anything could happen aboard the Fandom Podcast Network's TARDIS this time, when Adam O'Brien stows away! Yes the “Fantha from Down Under” himself brings his memories of growing up watching our favourite series on ABC television. As well as answering some time honoured questions plucked from the Type 40's memory banks...

It's up to your host Dan to make sure the Web of Time can take it, as they chart the unique story of Doctor Who in what surely must be it's second home: Australia. Adam's a writer and one of SF and Fantasy genres most prolific pod-casters, so is bound to drop in lots of gold along the way!

There's not many TV series that bring people together quite like Doctor Who, as our regular Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travellers strand demonstrates. Come and enjoy this latest conversation on Type 40. Further proof how as different as our experiences and connections to it all may be, there's fascination in contrasting and and sharing them....

In this weeks show Kyle starts settling in with co-host Scott as he will be filling in while Kevin is on his move back to California, however it turns out that Kevin was not quite done packing and sneaks his way onto one final  Culture Clash from the Atlanta Studios.

This week we discuss the summer movie season and has it been more dud than success and what might be the issue.

We also discuss J.J. Abrams going to Warner, the latest in streaming news, Marvel trolling something with Spider-Man and  some changes at Lucasfilm as well as a few other interesting pieces of Star Wars news.

In Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it the crew discusses MIB International and Kyle gets a look at the first half of Jessica Jones season 3.

Finally the Magic 8 Ball is back from Hollywood in time to ask us the 8 things we are looking forward to the rest of the summer.

So join us for one final show before Kevin leaves for the Hotel California, Let's Do This Thing!

DiscoVille 57: The Orville Season 2 A Look Back

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

This weeks mission is a big one that pulls in the full crew of Kyle, Hayley, Kevin and Amy as we take a look back at the second season of The Orville as a whole.  Which episodes stood out, was there any that did not hit the mark?  Who was the MVP of the season and who did we not get enough of?  Now that we know season 3 is coming what would we like to see happen in it and we also have a discussion on the internet debate on The Orville and Trek.

In Subspace Signals we do a deep dive into the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek rumors and give our thoughts on them as well as talking about the cast of Star Trek 2009 giving a special look to their lost crew member.

Also how did THAT get on Mars?!?!?!?

Hailing frequencies are now open..............

DiscoVille 56: Discovery S2 E:11 Perpetual Infinity

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

This week the DiscoVille's mission is once again headed up by Kyle and Hayley as Kevin is busy with his relocation assignment and Amy is off on yet another Section 31 mission.  But that will not stop us as we take this mission on to look at the Discovery Episode Perpetual Infinity.

The Red Angel has been revealed and the fall out has begun as this weeks episode gives us a closer look at the Burnham family and just what has Dr. Burnham be doing with the Red Angel suit.  We will explore our thoughts on how these revelations effect not only the story this season but also how it changes our perception of Michael Burnham as well.

Let us not forget that Control is still out there and is starting to make it's move as well, things might never be the same for Leland and can Georgiou and Tyler stop Control before it gets what it needs to create the future Dr. Burnham has been trying to stop?  We discuss how well the story of control fits into this season of Discovery as well.

Finally with a lack of major news news this week we use subspace signals to take a look back at all the Picard news over the last few weeks and just what it means for Star Trek as a franchise as well.

DiscoVille Episode 055: The Orville S02:E14 The Road Not Taken

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In this weeks episode the full crew is back on board (but is it an alternate timeline?) as Kyle, Hayley, Kevin and Amy all bring their thoughts on the season finale of The Orville The Road Not taken.

On this mission the crew discusses how The Orville handled an alternate time line story as well as seeing the return of a familiar face and did this episode live up to being a quality season finale for the show.

There is also some discussion of how we might change our own timelines if we could.

The Discoville then pics up some subspace signals as Kevin and Amy give their thoughts on the Picard trailer as well as a discussion on all of the RUMORS that are popping up about who might make guest cameo's on the show and if they do when and what fashion we would like to see those.

For now though it is time to set the timeline right, hailing frequencies are now open...........

Blood of Kings 109: Highlander - A Beginners Perspective PART 2! w/ Special Guest ROBERT BAPST!

Blood of Kings 109: Highlander - A Beginners Perspective PART 2! w/ Special Guest ROBERT BAPST!

June 4, 2019
Blood of Kings 109: Highlander - A Beginners Perspective PART 2! w/ Special Guest ROBERT BAPST!

Your Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel would like to welcome back special guest, an newcomer to Highlander, and the Highlander TV series, Robert Bapst!!
Robert Bapst is a long time friend of your Highlander Blood of Kings Podcast host Kevin Reitzel. Robert Bapst is somewhat new to Highlander fandom. Robert has seen the original 1986 Highlander movie and saw Highlander 2 once many years ago. However, Robert was ready to dive deep into the Highlander myology that the 1990's Highlander TV series provided. With Kevin's guidance, Robert dove head first into his new experience of the Highlander legacy, and marathoned the entire first season of the Highlander TV series.

Robert was ready for more, so Kevin gave him homework! Robert recently watched the second season of the Highlander TV series, Highlander 2 the Renegade Version and Highlander 3 for the first time! In this very special episode of the Blood of Kings Podcast, Kevin interviews Robert again about his impression of the second season of the TV series and Highlander 2 and 3 and how they impact the Highlander mythology thus far. Join us for this very interesting discussion into a beginners perspective of the Highlander universe. For the record, Robert Bapst is now a huge Highlander fan, is beginning to marathon season 3!

Here are some of the Highlander topics that Kevin discusses with Robert:

- Robert's first SWORD EXPERIENCE is approaching, and he got his bokken in the mail, and shares his excitement in using it in this special event.

- If Robert could choose his Sword Experience choreography, from the Highlander movies and first two seasons, which fights would he choose.
- What other famous non Highlander sword fights would Robert like to learn to do at the Sword Experience?

- Robert's  Highlander Season Two first reactions.

- Robert's Favorite Season 2 episodes.

- Robert's Favorite Season 2 guest star immortals / mortals?

- What is Robert looking forward to in future seasons? Any speculations or predictions?

- Robert's Highlander II: The Renegade movie reaction.

- Robert's Highlander 3: The Final Dimension movie reaction.

Kevin would like to thank his special guest Robert Bapst for being on the Blood Of Kings Highlander Podcast, and for jumping in head first, and for sharing his thoughts on the Highlander universe!

You can find Robert Bapst on social media here:

DiscoVille Episode 054: Discovery S02:E10 The Red Angel

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In the latest for the DiscoVille Kyle and Hayley man the bridge and take us on a journey looking at Discovery S02:E10 The Red Angel.

In the episode that starts the path to the finale of the second season of Discovery we explore how this episode started tying up some of the smaller plots that have been running through this season of Discovery as well as starting to answer some of the biggest questions of the season, including what might have been the biggest surprise of the season, did it live up to the expectation?  One of many topics discussed on this episode.

In subspace signals there is only one that matters the Picard trailer is here and all the feels that come with it.  Hayley and Kyle give their thoughts (between losing their minds in excitement!)

Culture Clash 129: Take 2: John Wick, Thrones, Batman and Pokemon OH MY (and did we mention JOHN WICK!)

Welcome to Take 2 of Culture Clash 129 (You will understand when you listen to the show) this week Kevin is back from vacation just in time to #suitupforwick.  Meanwhile Kyle has the dragons in order for a final round of Game of Thrones!

In news we look at if we have a new Batman while we for sure have a Batwoman.  We discuss Disney now having full control over Hulu and what some of the ramifications of that might be, as well as a new season of Black Mirror coming and news on the Marvel Disney Plus shows.

In Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it Kevin takes on a Long Shot and does some detective work with Pikachu, while both Kevin and Kyle sign up for Cobra Kai Season 2.

Finally after months of waiting and Kevin suiting up John Wick 3 is here and the Clash takes a deep dive into Parabellum!

It's going to be a fun show and we do it all with a pencil (ok maybe some tactical dogs to)

Let's do this thing!

Blood of Kings 108: Highlander Character Profile: DARIUS w/ Special Guest SHAWN DEMPSEY!

Blood of Kings 108: Highlander Character Profile: DARIUS w/ Special Guest SHAWN DEMPSEY!

May 20, 2019
Blood of Kings 108: Highlander Character Profile: DARIUS w/ Special Guest SHAWN DEMPSEY!

Your Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel would like to welcome special guest and fellow Highlander aficionado, SHAWN DEMPSEY!
Shawn is a big Highlander fan, and his knowledge of Highlander is extensive. Shawn is also a big supporter of Blood of Kings. Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel first met Shawn in person at the 2016 Highlander Lakeland Florida event, during Adrian Paul's Sword Experience as they were paired up as partners. Shawn and Kevin have connected at a few conventions, a chance meeting in Nashville, and at the now famous and wonderful 2017 Highlander TV Show 25th Anniversary Convention in Los Angeles.

In this special episode of Blood of Kings, Kevin and Shawn do a Highlander Character Profile of fan favorite Darius! The character of Darius was first introduced in the season one episode called "Band of Brothers", which aired February 13th, 1993.

Darius was born in  a nomad's tent somewhere east of the Ural mountains, a foundling raised by Goths. His first death occurred while he led his people into battle against a Germanic horde that attacked his homeland. He was discovered shortly afterward by an Immortal named Ahasuerus the Parthian, a former Persian ruler who taught Darius about his Immortality. He became a powerful Immortal warrior who led his fellow Goths into battle against other tribes. In 1804 while traveling behind the English lines, he met Duncan MacLeod. With this meeting, he forced the young warrior to re-examine his beliefs in the rightness of his convictions about the need and purpose of war. He invited the young Scot back to Paris when his tour of duty was over to learn more.  Join us for this ongoing Highlander Blood of Kings Podcast Character Profile series.

Here are some of the other Highlander topics that Kevin discusses with Shan:

- The origin of Shawn's Highlander Fandom

- Shawn's retrospective of the 25th Anniversary Highlander Worldwide Convention in 2017.

- Shawn's favorite and least favorite Highlander movies & TV episodes.

- Shawn's take on the future of Highlander and the new movie or TV series.

- What are Shawn's OTHER favorite fandoms, movies and TV Shows.

Kevin would like to thank his special guest Shawn Dempsey for being on the Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast, and for being one of the many leaders of Highlander fandom!

Culture Clash 128: Kevin checks in from vacation and remembering Peter Mayhew

This week Uncle Travelling Kevin checks in from his quickening vacation along with the lovely as always Erin Gill to discuss their thoughts on Avengers Endgame as well as to remember Peter Mayhew.  He also gives us some tales from his travelling ways and we discuss a few other things going on in Fandom.

We are also joined by friends of the show Michael and Christy Morris as they share their thoughts and memories on Peter Mayhew as well.

It is an all over the United States episode as we bring you the latest in Fandom news, reviews and memories of our favorite Wookie.

Let's do this thing!

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. In this weeks Mission Kyle, Hayley and Amy are joined by returning guest DAVIS Grayson to discuss S02 Episode 12 of The Orville "Sanctuary" perhaps the most loved episode of The Orville by the crew yet.

The crew dives into one of the more powerful and well written episodes of The Orville to discuss all of the messages, political meanings and lessons that this episode explored from equal rights to when is it another culture's place to put their beliefs on another oh and of course the true power of Dolly Parton!

Time Warp: 1993: The Movies - 25 Years Later: Part 1. Army of Darkness, Groundhog Day, Sniper, Falling Down, Point of No Return... and more!

Welcome to the Fandom Podcast Network's special presentation of Time Warp: 1993 The Movies, Part 1. In this special edition of Time Warp, your hosts Kevin Reitzel, Erin Gill and special guest Alex Autrey will cover the first three months of the year in movies, and pop culture for 1993.
Over the last few years here on the Fandom Podcast Network, we celebrated the movies of 1985, 1986 & 1987. We made a case for the 1980's being some of the best years in movies. But we though we would challenge this again, and look back on the fantastic year of movies and pop culture of 1993! The movies of 1993 recently celebrated their 25th anniversary!
Welcome to Time Warp: 1993 The Movies Part 1 of 4. In the episode, we will cover the 1993 movies released in the months of

-          January

-          Feb

-          March

Here is a small sample of the many movies we will cover in Part 1 of Time Warp: 1993:

- Sniper

- Falling Down

- Point of No Return

- Alive

- The Vanishing

- Groundhog Day

- Army of Darkness

- El Mariachi

- Fire in the Sky

1993 gave us a great year in movies, an that's what we are here to celebrate on this special presentation of the Time Warp here on the Fandom Podcast Network. Many 1993 movies became legendary with box office receipts to back it up. Some became cult classics. And some 1993 movies were so bad, they were good. And well... some we're just plain bad. 1993 also gave birth to many of our current classic fandoms and pop culture we still celebrate today. We will celebrate, debate and discuss this fantastic year of movies in 1993.

So travel back in time with us, and enjoy, Time Warp: 1993 The Movies, Part 1.

Blood of Kings 107: Highlander Season 4: See It or Skip It? Part 2: Paris Episodes w/ Guest John Mosby

Highlander Season 4: See It or Skip It? Part 2: The Paris Episodes!

Your Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast host Kevin Reitzel is very excited to discuss the Highlander Television Series again at length and in detail! Kevin welcomes a very special guest...JOHN MOSBY, author of his book FEARFUL SYMMETRY: The Essential Guide to All Things Highlander! John will join Kevin in this weeks episode of a very special look at Highlander SEASON FOUR with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective and weigh-in, per episode, on whether you should SEE IT - OR SKIP IT!

We always recommend new fans to Highlander to watch all episodes, but for a re-watch, we have our suggestions on what to See, or Skip. This is PART TWO of our review. We cover the PARIS second half of season four episodes such as:

-  Promises
-  Methuselah's Gift
-  The Immortal Cimoli
-  Judgment Day
-  One Minute to Midnight

There are several episodes that changed everything in Highlander Season four, and many more that also added to the wonderful Highlander mythology.

Again, we would like to thank JOHN MOSBY for allowing us to read the Season four episode summaries from his book FEARFUL SYMMETRY: The Essential Guide to All Things Highlander and you should have this with you as we are evaluating these episodes. You can find FEARFUL SYMMETRY: The Essential Guide to All Things Highlander at Amazon.com. Please support John and this book because it really is the ultimate resource for Highlander fans.

This particular fun podcasting format was inspired by Kevin's friends Bill Smith and Dan Davidson who on their podcast TREKGEEKS, review Star Trek seasons in this very same manner and advise to their listeners regarding which episodes are worth their viewing time and those that can be set aside.

We would LOVE to hear from all of you out there in the Blood of Kings listening audience to see if you agree or disagree with our list on this episode so please make sure to get in touch with us!

Culture Clash 127: The Real Co-Host's return in time for THE ENDGAME!

Kevin is off on a spiritual quest to understand the meaning of the quickening, however Kyle is not flying solo as per contractual obligations the Real Co-Host Alex Autrey and Michael Morris return to the Culture Clash Just in time to give their thoughts on Avengers: Endgame!

However first we catch up with them and find out their thoughts on things that have been going on in Fandom as of late and Michael share's his tales from Star Wars Celebration, as well as discussions on The Battle of Winterfell and we also take some time to remember John Singleton.

Then things may get a little 2 Fast 2 Furious as the Real Co-Host kick it into Maximum Overdrive with there Cult Classics or Guilty Pleasure picks!

It is a huge show and their might even be a Taylor Lautner mention as well.

Let's do this thing!

DiscoVille Episode 050: Star Trek Discovery S02 E08 - "If Memory Serves"

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In this weeks monumental 50th episode of DiscoVille Kyle and Hayley head up the crew as Kevin is learning about something call "The Quickening" and Amy is off on a classified Section 31 mission, but no reason to fear because Hayley is our TOS expert and we will be talking just as much TOS as we are Discovery thanks to the events of Discovery Season 02 Episode 08 "If Memory Serves"

We discuss If memory serves in depth and how well it's ties to the original series work (or perhaps not work) and they emotions and memories this episode stirred up as well as learning more about the history of Spock and Burnham and why their relationship is how it is.

We also discuss how Culber was handled in this episode as he dealt with his return and dealing with things that happened in his "Previous life"

In Subspace Signal's we discuss Anson Mounts comments of hoping to play Pike again one day, the new animated series that is coming to Nickelodeon (and what it might mean for a relationship between CBS and Paramount) and finally we take a look at the upcoming theatrical release of the DS9 Documentary What We Left Behind.

Plus it is our 50th show and we want to thank all of you for listening and your support!

with that

Culture Clash 126: A big announcement before Kevin goes for a quickening

April 29, 2019

Ok yes this episode of the Culture Clash might be a tad later than normal but with Kevin heading out for vacation and Kyle still in Tax Season recovery we still managed to get some thoughts out before we saw both Endgame and Episode 3 of this season of Game of Thrones.

So hear what are thoughts were of what we were thinking and predictions we had for both this epic film and episode of television were released.

Also we look back at our thoughts on episode 02 of Thrones current season as well as the new Godzilla trailer and the trailer for the new Will Smith film Gemini Man.

In Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it Kyle does a catch up on Arrow, Flash and Riverdale while Kevin brings the happy with The Haunting of Sharon Tate.

Finally in Cult Classic or Guilty pleasure Kyle brings things "Over the Top" while Kevin decides who is better in Ecks vs. Sever.

Oh wait and a HUGE announcement for something new being worked on for the Fandom Podcast Network!

DiscoVille Episode 049: The Orville S02 E11 - "Lasting Impressions"

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!

In this weeks episode of DiscoVille the crew is fully restored as Kevin, Amy, Kyle and Hayley open their time capsule to discover The Orville S02 Episode 11-"Lasting Impressions"

In covering this episode the crew discuss their thoughts on the episode, the amazing guest performance by Leighton Meester as well as yet another Star Trek Alum finding their way onto The Orville as Voyager's own Tim Russ also has a guest starring turn.

The women of DiscoVille also discuss their amazing times as Hayley was part of a Discovery panel at a recent con and Amy had a run in with one Levar Burton in NY.

Finally we intercept some sub-space signals and discuss some homes for sale, Alex Kurtzman talking about hearing the fans on their love of all things Pike and more news on the upcoming Picard show.

It is a busy mission this week so we will delay no further

Blood of Kings 106: Highlander Season 4: See It or Skip It? Part 1: Seacouver Episodes w/ Guest John Mosby

Highlander Season 4: See It or Skip It? Part 1: The Seacouver Episodes!

This is PART ONE of our review. We cover the SEACOUVER first half of season four, from episodes such as:

-  Homeland
-  Double Eagle
-  The Colonel
-  Timeless
-  Something Wicked

Hair Metal Podcast 09: MARK KNIGHT Interview - Former BANG TANGO Guitarist & Solo Artist in MARK KNIGHT & THE UNSUNG HEROES

Welcome to the Fandom Podcast Network's special presentation of... THE HAIR METAL PODCAST!

The Hair Metal Podcast cover bands that reached several levels of popularity and notoriety during the mid to late 1980's "Hair Metal" explosion. We take an in-depth look into the bands that defined the style and sound of Hair Metal, and many other bands that may or may not be categorized as Hair metal, but did reach some popularity during the Hair Metal rush of the 1980's.

Kevin Reitzel is your host for The Hair Metal Podcast. Kevin's special guest for this Hair Metal Podcast episode, is Mark Knight, former BANG TANGO Guitarist, and now solo artist, as singer and guitarist for his newest band Mark Knight and The Unsung Heroes!

Bang Tango was one of those bands that were on the edge of approaching super stardom during the Hair Metal scene in the late 80's. Bang Tango was formed in 1988 in Los Angeles by guitarist Mark Knight and bassist Kyle Kyle in 1988. Knight recruited a second guitarist Kyle Stevens. Soon after vocalist Joe Leste joined the band as its front man which led to Leste's childhood friend, Tigg Ketler, completing the 5 piece line up as Bang Tango's drummer.

Bang Tango's initial release, a live EP titled Live Injection came out in early 1989 leading up to the release of their Howard Benson produced full-length debut Psycho Café which topped off at number 58 on the Billboard top 200 chart. The music video for the single Someone Like You was a popular staple on early 90's MTV programming such as Dial MTV and Headbanger's Ball. A video was also made for the single Breaking Up a Heart of Stone. The band would tour extensively during this period with the likes of Cheap Trick, LA Guns, Ratt, and Bulletboys. Bang Tango's next album releases was Dancing on Coals in 1991, then followed up by Love After Death in 1993, which never was released by MCA because the band was dropped by the label.

Mark Knight is now the singer, songwriter and guitarist with his current band, Mark Knight & The Unsung Heroes! For more information, check them out here:
https://www.markknightandtheunsungheroes.com/

Kevin is honored to have Mark Knight on this special podcast to discuss his music career both past and present! Here are many topics that Mark will discuss with Kevin:

- Mark's early musical influences, his background in music, and playing the guitar.
- What bands did Mark play with prior to Bang Tango.
- Mark talks about how he formed band Bang Tango with former member Kyle Kyle.
- Mark looks back on early days of Bang Tango, and then finally getting a record deal and recording Bang Tango's first studio album Psycho Café
- Mark's experience touring with Bang Tango in support of the album Psycho Café, and what was it like living through the very popular metal scene in the late 80's and early 90's.
- Mark's musical direction in the late 90's after Bang Tango and through the 2000's.
- Mark Knight then discusses his current project: Mark Knight and the Unsung Heroes.
- Plus many other fun and surprising topics!

Kevin would like to thank his very special guest... Mark Knight!

Please enjoy this special episode of the Fandom Podcast Network's, The Hair Metal Podcast! Remember...every rose has its thorn, and on a steel horse... we will ride! HAIR METAL LIVES! Rock on everyone!

Blood of Kings 105: Highlander Character Profile: Amanda w/ Special Guest Shan O’Connor!

Blood of Kings 105: Highlander Character Profile: Amanda w/ Special Guest Shan O’Connor!

April 9, 2019
Blood of Kings 105: Highlander Character Profile: Amanda w/ Special Guest Shan O'Connor!

Your Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel would like to welcome special guest and fellow Highlander aficionado, Shan O'Connor!
Shan is a big Highlander fan, and her knowledge of Highlander is extensive. Shan is also a big supporter of Blood of Kings. Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel first met Shan in person at the 2017 Highlander TV Show Worldwide 25th Anniversary Convention in Los Angeles California.

In this special episode of Blood of Kings, Kevin and Shan do a Highlander Character Profile of fan favorite Amanda! The character of Amanda was first introduced in the season one episode called "Lady and the Tiger", which aired April 24th, 1993.

Amanda was born around the year AD 820 in the Abbey of St. Anne in Normandy, France. Despite being poor and uneducated, she was intelligent, and knew she would have to steal if she wanted to eat. Her first death was in 850 during the Black Plague, when she was beaten to death for stealing food from a plague-ridden residence. Her body was to be cast into a bonfire, but she was rescued by Rebecca Horne. Rebecca became her mentor and friend. An Immortal and master thief who steals for both profit and thrills, Amanda has a reputation for being a liar and using people to achieve her financial and pilfering goals. Amanda has been many things for Duncan MacLeod over the centuries: a source of both amusement and frustration, a friend, an annoyance, a confidant, and on more than one occasion, a lover.  Join us for this ongoing Highlander Blood of Kings Podcast Character Profile series.

Here are some of the other Highlander topics that Kevin discusses with Shan:

- The origin of Shan's Highlander Fandom

- Shan's retrospective of the 25th Anniversary Highlander Worldwide Convention in 2018.

- Shan's favorite and least favorite Highlander movies & TV episodes.

- Shan's take on the future of Highlander and the new movie.

- What are Shan's OTHER favorite fandoms, movies and TV Shows.

- Shan's attended the SoCal Swordfight 2019 event, as a spectator with her HEMA group, Mordhau Historical Combat out of Mesa Az. Where she got to meet up with fellow Blood of Kings member Norman Lao!

Kevin would like to thank his special guest Shan O'Connor for being on the Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast, and for being one of the many leaders of Highlander fandom!
