Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 68: How Can There Ever Be Only One?

On January 28, 2018...one of our newer Blood of Kings Facebook Group members Cleaver Crawford asked a very interesting question to the community...

"I have one question, how can there ever be only one, when new immortals are made everyday when someone new dies?"

This started one of the fastest and most engaging threads that both Kevin and Norm have ever seen on the Blood of Kings community page and inspired some incredibly in-depth and well constructed conversations and theories; some of which go all the way back to the original "alt.tv.highlander" and "Rysher forums" days of yore!

This episode of Blood of Kings is 100% dedicated to this amazing thread and the passion that it stirred up amongst all of the Blood of Kings community of fans who prove to Kevin and Norm time and time again...that this is the absolute best Highlander fanbase out there today!!! Thank you Cleaver Crawford for such an amazing topic for discussion.

Time Warp: 1985 The Movies, Part 1

February 20, 2018
00:0000:00

Time Warp: 1985 The Movies, Part 1.

Welcome to the Fandom Podcast Network's special presentation of

Time Warp: 1985 The Movies, Part 1. In this special edition of Time Warp, your hosts Kevin Reitzel, Kyle Wagner, Erin Gill and special guest co-host Alex Autrey will cover the first three months of the year in movies , and pop culture for 1985

Over the last couple of years here at the Fandom Podcast Network, we celebrated the movies of 1986 & 1987. We made a case for 1986 & 1987 being some of the best years in movies. But we though we would challenge this again, and look back on the fantastic year of movies and pop culture of 1985!
And to quote Erin Gill... "1985 is the most 80's year... of the 1980s."
Welcome to Part 1 of 4 of the Time Warp: 1985, The Movies. In the episode, we will cover the movies released in the months of

-          January

-          February

-          March

Here is a small sample of the many movies we will cover in Part 1 of Time Warp: 1985:

-   Witness

-   The Breakfast Club

-   Tuff Turf

-   The Sure Thing

-   Malibu Express

-   Turk 182

-   Vision Quest

-   Missing in Action 2: The Beginning

-   The Last Dragon

-   Desperately Seeking Susan

1985 gave us a great year in movies, an that's what we are here to celebrate  on this special presentation of the Time Warp here on the Fandom Podcast Network. Many 1985 movies became legendary with box office receipts to back it up. Some became cult classics. And some 1985 movies were so bad, they were good. And well... some we're just plain bad. 1985 also gave birth to many of our current classic fandoms and pop culture we still celebrate today. We will celebrate, debate and discuss this fantastic year of movies in 1985.

So travel back in time with us, and enjoy, Time Warp: 1985 The Movies, Part 1.

On this podcast episode, "Where No Series Has Gone Before...", we discuss the Season 1 Finale of Star Trek DISCOVERY, episode 15: Will You Take My Hand?. In this emotionally filled episode season finale of Star Trek Discovery, we discuss how the crew of Discovery comes full circle, deals with loose ends, and how the crew and the Federation plan to stop the Klingon & Federation war.

We have two very special guest stars to help us discuss this fantastic Star Trek Discovery season finale.  From TREK.FM Postacards from the Edge and EARL GREY, we welcome back to Discoville, Amy Nelson!

We also welcome back, from our Fandom Podcast Network's Orphan Black Culture Clash Specials, Hayley Stoddart!

Because this episode is such a journey...literally a discovery of where these characters have gone, and where they are going, and that road...has been long and seems to be getting even longer. Your Discoville hosts dive deep into this episode's Easter eggs, original series throwback mentions and a particular TOS alumni guest star. In addition, we also discuss what we would like to see in season 2 of Star Trek Discovery. Oh and there is that episode ending exciting and shocking appearance of a very well known an beloved starship. WHAT??? YES!!!

We also activate the Omega 13 where we all choose what scene we would like to re-live or re-write. Then we check in with the Subspace Signals and share our favorite tweets from Star Trek Discovery and The Orville celebrities. This includes a couple of fun Valentines Day Orville Tweet polls!

Don't worry Orville fans! Discoville will return covering Orville episodes again soon. The Discoville podcast will continue with doing a re-watch, starting from the beginning of their season 1, of both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville episodes in the next couple of weeks. Culture Clash 75: Wakanda Relations with Michael Morris

February 14, 2018
00:0000:00

So relations with Wakanda have been a little rocky and Kevin has done his best but Kyle reached out to bring in a Wakandan expert but the office got things a bit confused and instead they sent us a Kaiju expert as Michael Morris (All Fingers Intact) come back to the Clash.  He might not help us to much with Wakanda but he will be of a huge help with the Gunter's Guide subject this week MECHAGODZILLA.  The countdown to Infinity War continues as we look at the final movie of Phase One The Avengers!  Kevin also shares his mad love of Ethan Hawke with us in both Buy it, Stream it and Unsee it but also with his video vault pick of Daybreakers.  All that plus we get Michael's take on what has been going on in Star Wars Fandom including his take on the Solo trailer.  Oh and it is our 75th episode.  (By the way Norman return that vibranium please.)  Let's do this thing!

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 67: Adrian Paul Interview & #SwordXP Atlanta Recap

February 12, 2018

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 67: Adrian Paul Interview & #SwordXP Atlanta Recap

Here we are at our final episode dedicated to Highlander ENDGAME. Truth be told, it was because of a very special event that inspired Kevin and Norm to choose ENDGAME as their first podcast theme for the beginning of Blood of Kings Season Three. Kevin attended the Atlanta Sword Experience because it was advertised that a very special choreography FROM Endgame was going to be taught...and "could" be one of THE most memorable sequences in the history of Highlander...the final duel between Duncan and Connor MacLeod.

Kevin also was able to sit down with the Highlander himself ADRIAN PAUL for a fantastic interview on Adrian's ENDGAME memories as he even shared a few details of what is coming up for the #SwordXP. Kevin also had a chance to interview #SwordXP Musketeer extraordinaire Priscilla Manriquez, read a special message with his #SwordXP partner David Edwards and share an incredible Highlander life changing moment with new friend of the show D.J. Stokes.

Culture Clash 74: The FPN 2nd Anniversary Show (With ALL the founders)

February 9, 2018
00:0000:00

That is right it is the 2nd anniversary of the Fandom Podcast Network and we are celebrating it here on the flagship show Culture Clash.  What is a party though if you don't have all the founders, so not only are Kevin and Kyle here but Norman C. Lao jumps in as well for a HUGE and jam packed show.

We kick things of with A HUGE helping of Beru Stew as we discuss our thoughts on BOTH solo trailers, the fact that Star Wars is going to get a big of Game of Thrones Flavor, Harrison Ford being involved with Solo and Bob Iger announcing that they are working on multipule Star Wars TV series.  (It is a big bowl of stew!)

In Let's News we talk more trailers as we discuss the Deadpool 2 and Jessica Jones season 2 trailers as well as all the trailers from the Super Bowl.  We also discuss Best Buy announcing that they will not be selling CD's anymore as well as a couple new projects from Amazon streaming.

In the Gunter's Guide to Ready Player One Norman brings us the RUSH as we talk the band's place in history and their importance in the never ending search for the egg.

In an all Netflix edition of Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it we take a look at the new series Altered Carbon as well as the out of nowhere release of the Cloverfield Paradox.

We continue the countdown to Infinity War with our look at Captain America: The First Avenger

Finally Kevin brings some video games out of the Video Vault with a look at the 2015 film Pixels.

All that plus the anniversary party, it is a packed show but a lot of fun.

With that thank you to all of you who have contributed and supported FPNet over the last two years!  Let's do this thing!

In just under 50 minutes, this episode delivers so many powerful character building moments and a true bridge from Enterprise all the way through to the Original Series with moments and references that respect the past, present and future of this series as part of the overall Star Trek franchise. This episode also features some of THE BEST scenes from our cast of incredibly talented female cast members. Having so many strong female leads in this show is both refreshing and inspiring!

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 66: Endgame Reactions “The Fans Have Spoken!”

February 5, 2018
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 66: Endgame Reactions "The Fans Have Spoken!"

This episode of Blood of Kings is dedicated to our amazing Blood of Kings Facebook FAMILY that has grown and evolved into something so incredibly special...

Welcome to the THIRD Endgame themed episode..."The Fans Have Spoken!"...recorded because the fan reaction to Blood of Kings Episodes 64 and 65 has been so voluminous and passionate! This reaction show started with a private message that Norm received from Highlander Heart's very own GRANT KEMPSTER, followed up almost immediately by Blood of Kings sister listener SHAN O' CONNOR; both of whom had so much to say and share about their ENDGAME reactions and experiences.

Kevin and Norm "thought" that they were finished with what was supposed to be a standard, two-part deep dive of Highlander: ENDGAME. But the Blood of Kings fans...their passion could not be contained!!! So much so...that Norm decided to open up a REACTIONS THREAD on the official Blood of Kings Facebook page. The results were astounding and had to be recorded for a podcast!

Please join your Blood of Kings team as they continue their "deep dive" study of ENDGAME, the fourth movie of the cult classic Highlander franchise. In this podcast, Kevin and Norm enjoy deconstructing one of the most beloved films in Highlander Cinematic Universe, as ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING...25 years ago.

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 15: The Saru-Win Scenario

February 2, 2018
00:0000:00
DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 15: The Saru-Win Scenario

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this podcast titled "The Saru-Win Scenario", we extensively cover Star Trek DISCOVERY episode 13: What's Past Is Prologue as The Orville is on hiatus until later this Fall 2018. For context...What's Past Is Prologue is a quotation by William Shakespeare from his play The Tempest. In contemporary use, the phrase stands for the idea that history sets the context for the present. In this case...since Discovery takes place approximately 10 years before Kirk and Spock, are we to now believe that certain "firsts" from The Original Series are now no longer that case - such as the "ION STORM transporter beam malfunction" as first seen in the celebrated classic Original Series episode MIRROR MIRROR? Also in this podcast, we celebrate one of the finest moments in Discovery...as our episode title suggests.

Sitting in with us and waiting to kick any traitors to the Fandom Podcast Network into the FPN
s  Spore Reactor is Kyle Wagner...who may be suffering from a little bit of day old Kelpian.

Thanks to everyone out there for tuning in and supporting our show and for making this podcast so incredibly fun to do for all or you. And thank you to our Facebook and Social media followers for sending in so many fantastic questions and comments of which we were able to address several in this show.

Good Evening: An Alfred Hitchcock Podcast: 12.5 Easy Virtue Radio Play

February 1, 2018
00:0000:00

Good Evening Episode 12.5: Easy Virtue The BBC Radio Play

In this episode of Good Evening: An Alfred Hitchcock Podcast, we present for you the BBC Radio play of “Easy Virtue” starring Anna Massey, Victoria Hamilton, Michael Elwyn, and Elisabeth Bermot-Walsh.

This play originally aired on the 26th of December, 1999.

Details taken from Hitchcock Zone:
Broadcast Details

  • first broadcast as part of the Sunday Play series on BBC Radio 3
  • date: 26/Dec/1999, 7:30pm
  • length: approx 95 minutes
  • repeated: 23/Jul/2000, 9:10pm

Synopsis

Into the upper-middle class comfort of the Whittaker country household comes the worldly Larita, a trophy wife brought home by the prodigal son John. The play lives in a nervous and indolent atmosphere controlled by the disdainful Mrs. Whittaker and tolerated by the laconic Colonel Whittaker. The Whittaker sisters, superficially serious Marion and flighty but destructive teenager Hilda round out this dysfunctional family whose major interests rest in tennis and lawn parties with Chinese lanterns and fairy lights.

Larita, soon disenchanted with the surface life she has joined, develops an ennui that ultimately drives her back to her life of literature and art. What starts as a comedy of manners turns finally to a critique of British gentry. Only Sarah Hurst and Charles Burleigh ground the action in Coward's environment of idiosyncratic affectation.

Adapted for radio by Maria Aitken from Easy Virtue, Noël Coward's 1925 play.

February 1, 2018
00:0000:00

Kevin and Kyle are dedicated to giving you the best Endzone we can but with the Patriots back in the Super Bowl we are finding it hard to get excited about the game (Sorry Pete).  However the insperation of Jimmy GQ will get us through and we will give you our thoughts on what happened in the conference championships, what could happen in the big game and some other NFL news.  Add in our final week of mediocre fantasy football advice and we are set to go enjoy the commercials of the big game.  Enjoy the Super Bowl and join us in the Endzone!

Culture Clash 73: State of the Clash Union

January 31, 2018
00:0000:00

There are issues in the Fandom Union Kyle and Kevin want to know how are relations with Wakanda got so bad that all we have not seen Black Panther yet but all these other people are seeing it, plus why can Marvel have a new movie trailer but we still can't get a SOLO trailer.  It is raining upside down, Cat's and Dog's are living together.  Things are crazy, however we do have the latest episode of the Culture Clash to calm it down.  We take a look at the continuing troll that is the Dundee "Trailer" we discuss the Ant-Man and Wasp trailer, the fact that apparently Cloverfield 4 is already done even though 3 has yet to come out.  (So confused!)  Then we consult the Gunter's Guide to Ready Player One and learn about one of the most iconic things of the 80's PAC-MAN.  From there we cross the rainbow bridge to look at the next film in our Countdown to Infinity War as we take a look at THOR.  Finally we reopen Kevin's Video Vault to look at Double Dragon (WHAT no Mortal Kombat????).  Things are crazy and we have a bad case of Pac-Man fever running through the studio so please Let's do this thing!

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 65: Highlander ENDGAME: The Commentary

January 29, 2018
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 65: Highlander ENDGAME: The Commentary

Please join your Blood of Kings team as they continue their "deep dive" study of ENDGAME, the fourth movie of the cult classic Highlander franchise. In this podcast, Kevin and Norm enjoy deconstructing one of the most beloved films in Highlander Cinematic Universe, as ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING...25 years ago.

However, not all went according to the general Highlander fandom's expectations. All of the pieces were in place for this film to succeed where the sequels Highlander 2: The Quickening (and its subsequent versions) and Highlander 3: The Final Dimension stumbled and many times failed to extend the legacy of what the first film achieved, cementing the epitaph "There Can Be Only One...FILM!". With several mis-fires in the theatrical version, Highlander ENDGAME, could have changed the paradigm for the future. However, fan expectation for this film in particular was incredibly high and the internet was becoming a viable tool to share much of the fans concerns...especially where the "rules of the game" - a staple element of the Highlander universe - were forcibly changed to usher in a "whole new ball game" as one of the characters stated.
Please join the Blood of Kings team as they present to you PART TWO of their deep dive study on Highlander ENDGAME!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 14: Looking for Lorca In All The Wrong Places

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

On this podcast titled "Looking for Lorca In All The Wrong Places" - we extensively cover Star Trek DISCOVERY'S Episode 12 VAULTING AMBITION as The Orville is on hiatus until later this Fall 2018. Discovery is certainly living up to it's series name as we are finally "discovering" in this slow burning and dramatic unveiling...who is the REAL Captain Gabriel Lorca...but more importantly...WHY Michael Burnham means so much to him and his plans. Also...we discover that there is a certain Imperial Delicacy and a new meaning behind "Keep your friends close...but keep your Kelpian friends closer!" We also take a moment to discuss "The World of the Orville" - the first "official" book that covers the making of and behind the scenes of Seth MacFarlane's hit TV series on the Fox Network.

Sitting in with us and manning the FPN dining room for this episode is our incredibly talented co-founder, editor extraordinaire and our personal chef who prepares Kelpian as finely as any imperial chef...Kyle Wagner.

Thanks to everyone out there for tuning in and supporting our show and for making this podcast so incredibly fun to do for all or you. And thank you to our Facebook and Social media followers for sending in so many fantastic questions and comments of which we were able to address several in this show.

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 64: Highlander ENDGAME: The Retrospective

January 23, 2018
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 64: Highlander ENDGAME: The Retrospective

In September of 2000, Highlander ENDGAME was released to world-wide audiences as the fourth movie of the cult classic Highlander franchise. This film was the very first appearance of Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod on the BIG screen, after enjoying a wonderful and successful 6 season run on the critically acclaimed television series of this same franchise. ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING, as Christopher Lambert reprised his iconic role of Connor MacLeod; the character that launched this franchise nearly 32 years ago in 1986.

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 62: Blood of Kings Season 2…The Year in Review

January 10, 2018
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 62: Blood of Kings Season 2...The Year in Review

Your Blood of Kings FOUR HORSEMEN - Kevin, Norm, Mike and Kyle (hmmm...two K's for Ken Gord's K equation!) - ride all together once again to discuss Blood of Kings Season 2 "The Year in Review!" Season Two of our podcast was just a phenomenal year for us and so many incredible things happened...but it all started two years ago with a very fortuitous phone call in January of 2016, when Kevin reached out to Norm with an extremely brilliant idea for the Fandom Podcast Network; to create a show solely focused on the Highlander franchise!

Over 60 episodes later - starting with the FPN Highlander 30th Anniversary Commentary and the FANDOM FLASHBACK 5 part series, your Blood of Kings team worked incredibly hard to bring the Highlander community - thoughtful and insightful commentary to all things Highlander. Please enjoy our YEAR IN REVIEW and stay tuned because as good as 2017 was for Blood of Kings...2018's Season Three is going to be even better!

THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you, our BELOVED Blood of Kings Facebook and online family. We love producing this show for you and it is so inspiring to know that there is still this incredible HIGHLANDER franchise family that cares about the legacy so very much. We do this show for YOU!

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 61: BoK Fan Choice: DUENDE Part 2: The Commentary

January 3, 2018
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 61: BoK Fan Choice: DUENDE Part 2: The Commentary

Please join your Blood of Kings team as they continue their "deep dive" study of DUENDE, as chosen by our very first iTunes review contest winner LEE FILLINGSNESS. In this podcast, Kevin and Norm enjoy deconstructing one of the most famous episodes in Highlander The Series and discover even deeper ands more complex meanings and motivations behind one of Highlander's greatest villains...Otavio Consone.

Lee chose DUENDE for several special reasons. He wrote to Blood of Kings, "The art of Destreza has fascinated me ever since this episode and it opened my eyes to the intricacy of western martial arts. To that point I had done sport fencing and pretended to be Robin Hood." He continued, "I also appreciated the dance aspect in this show because it illustrated one of the more interesting elements of Duncan, his sophistication."

DUENDE is an episode of Highlander that is also extremely special because friend of the show Anthony De Longis created the indelible Otavio Consone; an Immortal who's morality was as complex as his fighting style of La Verdadera Destreza. Anthony also introduced Highlander fans to the beauty and the allure of the Mysterious Circle and a fighting philosophy that he introduced to many through this episode of television, for the very first time. Please join us as we take an incredibly in-depth look at what is easily in the TOP 10 if not TOP 5 episodes of most Highlander fans and discover a few NEW things about this beloved story.

Welcome to Couch Potato Theater here on the Fandom Podcast Network. Couch Potato Theater is THE podcast covering all those hidden gems, cult classics and Guilty pleasures that are just so good, even though you might have the Criterion Collection or Deluxe Blu-ray set in your library just mere inches away from your entertainment center, you love what you are watching SO MUCH, you don't even care about getting off the couch. And THAT my friends is the DEFINITION of what our Show is all about.

And the 1991 film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man fits the Couch Potato Theater criteria!

This 1991 film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man , was directed by Australian director Simon Wincer, and starred Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson. Panned by critics upon its first release, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man quickly gained cult movie status through the years on home video market and cable TV.

"In the near future, Harley Davidson (Mickey Rourke) travels from Texas to California to reconnect with his old friend "Marlboro Man" (Don Johnson) at their old haunt; Rock N' Roll Bar & Grille.  The bar has fallen on hard times, and the corrupt Great Trust bank has threatened foreclosure. Harley and Marlboro convince their friends to help them rob one of the Bank's armored cars in order to collect the funds necessary to renew the building's lease. The robbery almost goes off without a hitch, when the trio are intercepted by a group of security agents who almost foil their getaway. Upon escaping, they discover the loot they stole from the van contains not money, but a new, experimental street drug called "Crystal Dream."

We here at the Fandom Podcast Network are proud to celebrate Couch Potato Theater's special presentation of Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

Join your Couch Potato Theater hosts Kevin Reitzel and his fellow Fandom Podcast Network host Kyle Wagner, and their Australian brothers Adam O'Brien and Brad "Macca"  McNaughton for this special Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man retrospective.

TIme Warp: The Movies of 1987 Part 4

December 27, 2017
00:0000:00

Time Warp: 1987: The Movies, 30 Years Later. Part 4.

Welcome to the Fandom Podcast Networks special presentation of

Time Warp: 1987, The Movies, 30 Years Later, Part 4.

In this special edition of Time Warp, your co-hosts Kevin Reitzel, Kyle Wagner, Erin Gill and Davis Grayson will cover the year in movies for 1987 Part 4. Last year we made a case for 1986 being the best year in movies. But we were challenged! Could 1987 eclipse 1986? We will celebrate and debate this throughout our 4 part special.

Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of the Time Warp: 1987, The Movies. In the episode, we will cover the movies released in the months of

- October
- November
- December of 1987

Here is a small sample of the many movies we will cover in Part 4 of Time Warp: 1987:

-       Three Men and a Baby

-       Planes, Trains and Automobiles

-       The Running Man

-       Less Than Zero

-       The Hidden

-       Near Dark

-       Moonstruck

-       Wall Street

-       Overboard

-       Good Morning, Vietnam

1987 gave us a great year in movies. On this special presentation of the Time Warp, here on the Fandom Podcast Network, we're celebrating the 30th anniversary of all 1987 movies. Many 1987 movies became legendary with box office receipts to back it up. Some became cult classics. And some 1987 movies were so bad, they were good. And well. some we're just plain bad.

In his final episode of Time Warp 1987 guest host and Toy Expert Davis Grayson, lets us know what toys debuted, and were popular in 1987. Also, Kevin shares the details of his special find of an original 1987 Life section of USA Today he found recently at a newspaper dispenser. How did it get there??? Who knows???

So travel back in time with us, and enjoy, Time Warp: 1987, The Movies, 30 Years Later.

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Episode 60: BoK Fan Choice: DUENDE Part 1: A Retrospective

December 26, 2017
00:0000:00
Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast
Episode 60: BoK Fan Choice: DUENDE Part 1: A Retrospective

One of the things that Kevin and Norm love most about having created the Blood of Kings Podcast, is the growth of the amazing HIGHLANDER Fan Community on Facebook and Social Media. Listener and fan interaction is incredibly important to promoting new discussions in all aspects of the Highlander universe. One BOK fan in particular, LEE FILLINGSNESS, won our very first iTunes Review contest and chose DUENDE as his fan-pick to be covered in this very special "two-parter" podcast deconstructing one of the most famous episodes in Highlander The Series: DUENDE.

Culture Clash: A Whovian Christmas Special

December 21, 2017
00:0000:00

In this bigger on the inside Culture Clash special we look at one of the best Christmas Traditions going as we take a look of what it means to be a Doctor Who fan at Christmas.  Kyle is joined by Couch Potato Theater host Davis Grayson as well as the Founder of the Spacebook Dan Hadley (who gives his from accross the pond perspective) as we discuss how Doctor Who has changed since the "modern era" launch and we look at each of the doctors runs and our thoughts on them.  We then hop in the Tardis and take a look back at the now Tradtional Christmas episodes of Doctor Who, their importance and which ones we liked or even disliked.  Finally we discuss the future of the Doctor as the current Christmas special is only days away from airing and we are getting the biggest regeneration yet as we are looking at our first Female doctor to be played by Jodie Whittaker (Attack the Block, Broadchurch).  It is an amazing time to be a Doctor Who fan or even a time to jump onto the Tardis for the first time.

Merry Christmas and we hope the Tardis materializes under your Tree this year!

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast Kingmaker #7 Special, The Gathering Recap w/ Carmel Macpherson & John Mosby

December 20, 2017
00:0000:00

Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast

Kingmaker #7 Special, The Gathering Recap w/ Carmel Macpherson & John Mosby

Welcome Highlander Fans to a very special Kingmakers Episode on Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast - here on the Fandom Podcast Network.

Earlier this fall, on the weekend of October 20th - 22nd, something extremely special and magical took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. HIGHLANDER fans from all over the world descended upon that hotel to take part in the 10th Highlander Worldwide convention called THE GATHERING, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the TV Series. From veterans, to newbies, the love and passion for the Highlander franchise was welcoming and infectious as old friendships were rekindled, new friendships blossomed and all were united under the banner of Highlander Worldwide.

Your Blood of Kings hosts Kevin & Norman welcomes the two people that were responsible for pulling off such an amazing event. Our special guests on the show are here to update this exciting news. We would like to welcome back:

• Carmel Macpherson, President of Highlander Worldwide and lead organizer of "The Gathering" A Highlander Convention"

• John Mosby: Author of "Fearful Symmetry, The Essential Guide To All Things Highlander"

As Kevin and Norman reflect on THE GATHERING with Carmel and John, and what it meant to the fans of Highlander. We cover many topics looking back on this very memorable event such as, the most challenging aspect of producing the convention, what planning details materialized for them easily, what didn't come to fruition no matter how hard they tried, What surprised them most about the convention, and what was the most consistent piece of feedback they received from the convention.

Carmel also gives us an update on the Go Fund Me Campaign for The Gathering Convention DVD production, including when the DVD will be ready for release. And Carmel also discusses the future for Highlander Worldwide and the website future updates.

Kevin and Norman save the big question for last for both John and Carmel...where do we go from here? What is next on the HLWW horizon and are they looking ahead to a potential HIGHLANDER 30th Anniversary convention??

Both Kevin and Norman wanted to personally thank both Carmel and John for all of their very hard work and effort they put into the recent Highlander Worldwide TV Show 25th Anniversary Convention. We are proud to welcome them back to Blood of Kings!

Culture Clash Beru Stew Special: The Last Jedi Reaction Show (SPOILER WARNING!)

December 20, 2017
00:0000:00

Again (SPOILER WARNING), on December 14th so many of us grabbed our Lightsabers, our Jedi Robes or our Blaster and made the journey once again into that galaxy far, far away as we headed into the latest edition of the Star Wars franchise The Last Jedi the sequal to the Force Awakens.  Join Kevin and Kyle as the welcome in friends Shawn Dempsy, Michael Morris and Din to discuss all things The Last Jedi did we love it? Did we hate it? Or did it fall somewhere in the middle? There are so many feelings and emotions but either way the force is strong with all of us!  Viewings after the recording of this show might have even changed the minds of some of our panelists as well.

Take note as well to try to maintain the feel of true emotion we at FPNet decided to do very minimal editing to this episode so be aware there were some time where there were technical issues of people dropping out and rejoining the meeting but the conversation continued as that happened and we did not want you or fans to miss a moment of our thoughts.  Also final reminder if you have not seen The Last Jedi yet this is a show FILLED WITH SPOILERS! so please go see The Last Jedi and come back and take a listen.

May the Force be with you!

Week 14: Chiefs V Raiders Round 2 THERE WILL BE BLOOD

December 8, 2017
00:0000:00

IT IS TIME FOR ROUND 2 and this time it is in KC!  That is right it is Chiefs v Raiders week 2 and the swords have been drawn the trash talk is in full effect and Crabtree has retaped his chain.  There is no love in the Endzone between Kevin and Kyle this week.  However they are still professionals and they will get the job done yet again as the cover the games of week 13 including the fallout of the insane Monday Night Football game.  Then they take a look at the recent NFL news (The commish is the WINNER) and of course dish out another helping of mediocre fantasy football advice.  Truth is neither of the guys might survive to make it to the endzone this week anyway!  Plus the commish has blocked it while counting all his money.  Dont worry we have an audible that will take everyone once again into THE ENDZONE!

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast Episode 10: First Officer, Second Guesser?

DiscoVille: A Star Trek DISCOVERY and THE ORVILLE Podcast
Episode 10: First Officer, Second Guesser?

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.

For this episode it is all about being NUMBER ONE! The FIRST OFFICER is the second most important role on a starship, next to the Captain...but in many ways, the MOST important role because of the pressure they can take OFF the Captain. At least that is what we are meant to believe. A SECOND-GUESSER is someone who attempts to anticipate or predict and in many ways, this is what a First Officer does to inform their Captain of every possible decision making angle. However, in both Star Trek DISCOVERY and The Orville, First Officers Michael Burnham and Kelley Grayson each have "second guessed" their respective captains and, especially in the case of Burnham, caused more harm than the intended good.

Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest and co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Kyle Wagner. And we have another fantastic round with The Omega 13 device and take a look at a very interesting topic for Subspace Signals about an ever escalating budget that may affect Star Trek Discovery moving forward.
