Daredevil: Born Again is a series created by Dario Scardapane and Matt Corman & Chris Ord for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Daredevil. It is the 13th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, via its Marvel Television label, sharing continuity with the films and television series of the franchise. Born Again is a revival and continuation of Daredevil (2015–2018), an earlier series produced by the previous Marvel Television production company and originally released on Netflix. Scardapane serves as showrunner with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as lead directors. Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil from Marvel's Netflix television series and prior Marvel Studios productions, starring alongside Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 1990 American film based on the comic book Ninja Turtles characters of Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo & Raphael. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. It is the first installment in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series. Directed by Steve Barron and written by Todd W. Langen and Bobby Herbeck, the film follows the Turtles on a quest to save their master, Splinter, with their new allies, April O'Neil (Judith Hoag) and Casey Jones (Elias Koteas), from the Shredder and his Foot Clan.

We're re-releasing our special interview with Primitive War director Luke Sparke back in September 2025. Luke Sparke brought up a possible sequel and asked what we as fans wanted to see in Primitive War 2!

Culture Clash hosts Kyle & Kevin welcome special guest director Luke Sparke as we celebrate and discuss his Australian hit film Primitive War (2025). We also welcome special guest and personal friend of the show Blair Hiscock, from Brisbane Australia, who shares his insight on the film and working as an extra on set during filming. Primitive War is a 2025 Australian science fiction action horror film directed by Luke Sparke and based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Ethan Pettus, who also co-wrote the film. Starring Ryan Kwanten, Tricia Helfer, Nick Wechsler and Jeremy Piven.

Primitive War Movie Synopsis:
During the Vietnam War in 1968, a recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to rescue a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover that de-extincted dinosaurs inhabit the jungle; the result of a Soviet experiment gone wrong.

Top Gun is a 1986 American action drama film directed by Tony Scott and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The screenplay was written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr. It stars Tom Cruise as Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a young naval aviator aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. He and his radar intercept officer, Lieutenant (junior grade) Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), are given the chance to train at the United States Navy's Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) at Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California. Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer and Tom Skerritt also appear in supporting roles.

Plot:
When Doug's father, an Air Force Pilot, is shot down by MiGs belonging to a radical Middle Eastern state, no one seems able to get him out. Doug finds Chappy, an Air Force Colonel who is intrigued by the idea of sending in two fighters piloted by himself and Doug to rescue Doug's father after bombing the MiG base. Their only problems: Borrowing two fighters, getting them from California to the Mediteranean without anyone noticing, and Doug's inability to hit anything unless he has music playing. Then come the minor problems of the state's air defenses.

We're celebrating 1980's Cannon action films with a retrospective on how important these movies were to our fandom then, and the nostalgic grasp they still have on us today. On this episode we discuss Jean-Claude Van Damme's cult classic movie, BLOODSPORT (1988). 

Bloodsport is a 1988 American martial arts film directed by Newt Arnold and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, with a supporting cast of Leah Ayres, Donald Gibb, Roy Chiao, Norman Burton, Forest Whitaker, and Bolo Yeung. The film centers on Frank Dux (Van Damme), a United States Army captain and ninjutsu practitioner who competes in an underground full-contact martial arts tournament called the Kumite in Hong Kong. Based on Dux's real-life claims, the film was marketed as a true story. It was one of Van Damme's first lead roles and showcased his abilities, launching his career as a mainstream action star.

We will also discuss the films 1980's Cannon Films Famous Producers, Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. We also mention the documentaries about them, Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films (2014), and The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films (2014).

Then, get ready to spend another summer in the Galaxy Far, Far Away as Star Wars returns to movie theaters at long last this May 22 with the imminent release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu! Scott is especially excited about this Star Wars movie release because the greatest franchise of them all finally returns to theaters DURING the month of May! It has been many years since a Star Wars film released in May and not December so it's great to see Lucasfilm returning to the month when Scott celebrates his birthday. Thanks, Disney!

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (2026) is an American television series created by Gaia Violo for the streaming service Paramount+. It is the 12th Star Trek series and part of executive producer Alex Kurtzman's expanded Star Trek Universe. Set in the 32nd century, the far-future time period that was introduced in the later seasons of the series Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2024), Starfleet Academy follows the first new class of Starfleet cadets in over a century as they come of age and train to be officers.

Stars: Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, and Bella Shepard portray Starfleet Academy cadets, starring alongside Holly Hunter and Zoë Steiner, as well as Tig Notaro and Oded Fehr, who are reprising their roles from Discovery, and Robert Picardo returning as the character of the Doctor from other previous Star Trek series.

Tremors (1990) Plot Synopsis: 

Tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, repairmen Val McKee (Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Ward) try to skip town. However, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist Rhonda (Carter) studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of an eccentric survivalist couple Burt and Heather Gummer (Gross and McEntire), the group fights for survival against giant, worm-like monsters hungry for human flesh.

In this episode of All Good Things: A Star Trek Universe Podcast, host Christos is joined by Kelvin, Kristin, and Amy  to begin a two-part deep dive into one of Star Trek’s most iconic and terrifying adversaries: the Borg.

Part 1 explores the Borg’s evolution from their first chilling appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation—where they function as an unknowable, unstoppable force of cosmic horror—to Star Trek: First Contact, where the introduction of the Borg Queen gives the Collective a face, a voice, and a more personal connection to Jean-Luc Picard’s trauma.

The panel examines key episodes including “Q Who,” “The Best of Both Worlds,” “I, Borg,” and “Descent,” discussing how fear, loss of identity, and inevitability defined the Borg at their peak. They also debate whether First Contact strengthened the Borg by making them cinematic—or weakened them by making them knowable.

This is Part 1 of 2 in our Evolution of a Species series on the Borg. Part 2 will continue the discussion with Voyager and Picard.

Plot Synopsis:

Galaxy Quest is a 1999 American satirical science fiction comedy film directed by Dean Parisot and written by David Howard and Robert Gordon. It stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, and Daryl Mitchell. A parody of and homage to science-fiction films and series, especially Star Trek and its fandom, the film depicts the cast of a fictional cult television series, Galaxy Quest, who are drawn into a real interstellar conflict by aliens who think the series is a documentary and have shaped their society around the show.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is a 1992 American Christmas musical film produced and directed by Brian Henson (in his feature directorial debut). It is the fourth theatrical film featuring the Muppets. Adapted from the 1843 novella A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with a screenplay written by Jerry Juhl, the film takes artistic license to suit the aesthetic of the Muppets, but follows Dickens' original story closely. It is the first Muppet film where a human is the main protagonist.

The film stars Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge alongside Muppet performers Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, Jerry Nelson, and Frank Oz. It is the first Muppet film to be produced following the deaths of creator Jim Henson and performer Richard Hunt; the film is dedicated to both.
