Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom...as they introduce us to fresh, new and exciting stories, characters, galactic destinations and so much more!
In this episode of DiscoVille join Amy, Hayley, Kevin & Kyle as they take a deep dive into episode 3 of season 2 of the Orville Home. We take a deep dive into this powerful episode of The Orville as we possibly say goodbye to a member of the Orville crew and wonder if this crew member will be seen again in some fashion on the show. Is episode 3 of a season the magic number for the Orville? Last season episode 3 About a Girl upped the game and how people saw the show, it look like episode 3 of season 2 will change how people see the show yet again. Also we promise to use the soup ladle.
The crew then opens up the subspace signals to discuss the latest Star Trek show announcement spinning off Michelle Yeoh's Empress Georgiou into her own Trek spinoff, plus we read and respond to some listener e-mail.

In this episode of DiscoVille we get the crew of Kyle, Kevin, Amy and Hayley to pull away from their different simulator addictions to man the bridge to go into a deep discussion about episode 2 of season 2 of The Orville Primal Urges. Much like season one's Majority Rule episode this episode of The Orville dive into a topic effecting society in the here and now.
In Subspace Signal's the DiscoVille crew discusses what it took to get Patrick Stewart to come back to Trek as well as a look at the newest man to be a Star Trek Captain Anson Mount, finally the crew discusses the news that it looks as though Star Trek 4 has been cancelled.
This episode could be more fun that a barrel full of Krill (but it will be close)

Join Norman, Kyle and returning ambassador Amy Nelson as they continue the QUANTUM DRIVE RE-WATCH of the Orville with episode 9 CUPID'S DAGGER!
This episode opens up with what may possibly be the single greatest moment in the entire first season...
Karaoke night on The Orville was about to reach EPIC proportions as Lt. Commander Bortas took to the stage…DEMANDING silence and attention. However the festivities were cut short as Admiral Halsey ordered ED, KELLY and THE ORVILLE to negotiate a temporary truce regarding the Navarian - Bruidian Conflict over territorial rights to the Planet Lapovius. Both races have agreed to a neutral Union Foresnic Archaeologist to verify DNA found on an ancient artifact on Lapovius that may be the key to which race first colonized the planet. However, tensions escalate from smoldering to explosive, but this time between ED and KELLY as the forensic archeologist assigned to this mission is none other than our favorite Retepsian lothario DARULIO…who Ed found Kelly in bed with nearly a year ago.
After our Quantum Drive Rewatch the crew of Discoville look at some Item's coming out that might make some great gifts this upcoming holiday season!
There's no better way to pass the time waiting for Season Two...than with a comprehensive and in-depth look at each and every episode of Season One so let's...ENGAGE THE QUANTUM DRIVE!!!

Join Norman, Kyle and returning ambassador Amy Nelson as they continue the QUANTUM DRIVE RE-WATCH of the Orville with episode 8 INTO THE FOLD!
As THE ORVILLE sits in spacedock for upgrades to their navigational systems, Dr. Claire Finn is trying to wrangle her two sons so that she can spend some family time with them on a nearby entertainment “play” planet. Needing Lt. Lamarr’s expertise with the nav systems on the Orville, ISSAC was sent in his stead to be Claire’s shuttlepod pilot, with the added benefit of being able to observe Claire’s family dynamics with her sons. From there they all get more than they bargained for as the shuttle is thrown through a wormhole to an unknown planet, where Issac is left in charge of Dr. Finn's children while Dr. Finn tries to escape from a local resident of the planet, in the meantime all of them learning things about themselves.
The of course a look at the subspace signals covering all the happening's for Star Trek and the Orville.

Episode 17: Where No Series Has Gone Before...
We have two very special guest stars to help us discuss this fantastic Star Trek Discovery season finale. From TREK.FM Postacards from the Edge and EARL GREY, we welcome back to Discoville, Amy Nelson!
Because this episode is such a journey...literally a discovery of where these characters have gone, and where they are going, and that road...has been long and seems to be getting even longer. Your Discoville hosts dive deep into this episode's Easter eggs, original series throwback mentions and a particular TOS alumni guest star. In addition, we also discuss what we would like to see in season 2 of Star Trek Discovery. Oh and there is that episode ending exciting and shocking appearance of a very well known an beloved starship. WHAT??? YES!!!
We also activate the Omega 13 where we all choose what scene we would like to re-live or re-write. Then we check in with the Subspace Signals and share our favorite tweets from Star Trek Discovery and The Orville celebrities. This includes a couple of fun Valentines Day Orville Tweet polls!

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.
For this episode it is all about being NUMBER ONE! The FIRST OFFICER is the second most important role on a starship, next to the Captain...but in many ways, the MOST important role because of the pressure they can take OFF the Captain. At least that is what we are meant to believe. A SECOND-GUESSER is someone who attempts to anticipate or predict and in many ways, this is what a First Officer does to inform their Captain of every possible decision making angle. However, in both Star Trek DISCOVERY and The Orville, First Officers Michael Burnham and Kelley Grayson each have "second guessed" their respective captains and, especially in the case of Burnham, caused more harm than the intended good.
Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest and co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Kyle Wagner. And we have another fantastic round with The Omega 13 device and take a look at a very interesting topic for Subspace Signals about an ever escalating budget that may affect Star Trek Discovery moving forward.

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.
At times on DiscoVille, we will be on hiatus from actual real time broadcast releases. Not to worry - because aside from discussing the episodes, there are SO MANY aspects to these shows that we also want to discuss with you and for this episode, we wanted to talk about the visual stylization of both Star Trek Discovery and The Orville and how the costuming and prop teams for both series leaned fairly heavily on the Designs from their future's past...in this case The Original Series and ENTERPRISE for Discovery and The Next Generation era of 90's Trek for The Orville respectively.
Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest and co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network - Kyle Wagner. And we have a very interesting topic for Subspace Signals about a certain photo that was released on Twitter with a certain executive producer of The Orville with a certain former Betazoid Counselor from The Next Generation. Please…speculate amongst yourselves!

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.
Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Firestorm is a play on the old “proverb” as we discuss the events which have led us - the fans and audience of Star Trek AND Discovery - from the 12 year "Dead Sea" of Star Trek on TV - to the premiere of DISCO on September 24th, through to the cliffhanger midseason finale as the DISCOVERY SPORE JUMPED "Out of the Frying Pan" of the Klingon War. Meanwhile on The Orville...Security Chief Lt. Alara Kitan literally ran "Into the Firestorm" of her own worst nightmares. Or were they?
Sitting in with us in the Tactical Chair for this episode is our very special guest - Hayley Stoddart - who you have heard on several special episodes of CULTURE CLASH discussing Orphan Black. Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections yet again for the Omega 13 device and Kevin brings us some fantastic news about an OFFICIAL The Orville Sourcebook on Subspace Signals.

Episode 7: There's No Such Thing As Closure.
Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.
We had an AMAZING time recording this show...lots of fun, LOTS of puns, still waiting for BORTAS to drop the hammer on the Karaoke mike...and we LOVED having back on the show with us...Miss Amy Nelson from Trek.fm's Postcards from the Edge and Earl Grey podcasts.
The Title for this episode of DiscoVille is: There's No Such Thing As Closure. Cosmic threads still seem to tie these two shows together as The Discovery's crew needs closure post the Pahvan conflict...and on The Orville, Old Wounds open up once again between Ed and Kelly as they can't seem to get closure on from alien who originally drove them apart.
Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections yet again for the Omega 13 device and our Subspace Signals focus on a great piece of news regarding The Orville's renewal and a wonderful e-mail from a loyal listener.

Episode 6: The Six Degrees of Spockaration
Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek Discovery AND The Orville here on the Fandom Podcast Network. On this show we take an in-depth look at each of these shows and discover that both of them can co-exist in today's fandom.
This episode of DiscoVille is titled "The Six Degrees of Spockaration" because in BOTH episodes, the main characters of SARU and ISSAC respectively, and their storylines, are heavily influenced by and channel several of Spock's most significant moments of character growth as seen on Star Trek The Original Series. On Star Trek Discovery, SARU's plight draws heavily from This Side of Paradise, where "spores" (as represented by the Pahvan, artificially implant a certain serenity and happiness in him, that he feels is worth sacrificing the mission to protect. In The Orville, this episode draws heavily from The Galileo Seven (amongst other shuttle missions gone awry) as ISSAC learns that logic and detachment is not the only way to survive a dire situation.
Also on DiscoVille, we have some great selections for the Omega 13 device AND our Subspace Signals focus on why fandom today is so contentious to the point where there can be ONLY one or the other...only Discovery OR The Orville. WHY CAN'T THERE BE ROOM FOR BOTH???
