Florian is one of the founding members of the first Willrow Hood Costume Group members and was part of the first Willrow Hood run at Star Wars Celebration Convention on Orlando 2012. Who is Willrow Hood? Well Kevin and Florian discuss the legendary Star Wars character hero Willrow Hood from his first small cameo in Star Wars The Empire Strikes and his other appearances throughout the Star Wars Legends expanded universe. In this special episode of the What A Piece Of Junk a Star Wars Podcast, guest host and Fandom Podcast co-founder Kevin Reitzel hosts a "Virtual Hangout" discussion with his first 501st Garrison, the Georgia 501st Garrison who some members are also part of the Georgia Bespin Base Rebel Legion. The 501st and Rebel Legion are the world's largest volunteer costume groups for the Star Wars fan community. In these times of "self quarantine" during the Covid-19 pandemic, friends and family are doing more video chats nowadays to stay in touch with each other and chat about favorite topics. The 501st and Rebel legion are one of the many organized fan groups doing these "Virtual Hangouts".
Kevin recently hosted one of these virtual hangouts with his former 501st Garrison and Georgia adoptive Star Wars family to discuss the first season of The Mandalorian and the recent casting rumors of a live action Ahsoka Tano that may appear in season 2 of the Mandalorian. A long time ago...on a tv dial near you...Star Wars made the jump to the small screen with a series of mad-for-tv movies collectively known as The Ewok Adventures! During the 1980s many people were expecting Star Wars to die off as the end of theatrical movies was announced with Return of the Jedi in 1983. But you can't keep The Force down and the very next year in 1984 Star Wars appeared on our television screens.
