Blood of Kings 091: A Highlander Podcast: The ROCHESTER CASTLE Sword Experience with Shan O'Connor
On this weeks special episode, Kevin and Norman are excited to welcome Blood of Kings fan, friend, and Adrian Paul's Sword Experience expert... Shan O'Connor! Recently, Shan visited and participated in the Sword Experience in the United Kingdom, at the Rochester Castle on August 11th, 2018. We interviewed Shan about her first time visiting England, and her specific adventure, at the Sword Experience at the Rochester Castle. We also talked to Shan about the history of Rochester Castle, and what it was like having this event at this historical location.

Welcome to TYPE 40: A Doctor Who Podcast here on The Fandom Podcast Network! While Norman was off in Las Vegas participating in competition sword fighting at CombatCon, his Blood of Kings co-host KEVIN, recruits fellow Highlander expert and the main editor for Blood of Kings...MIKE SELLERS.
Duncan Macleod: "I made a promise to someone, one I could not keep. Sometimes I think a man of honor does what he swears and says to hell with the consequences!"
In the last episode, Kevin and Mike discussed why the HIGHLANDER TV SHOW season four episode...PROMISES, is Mike's CIMOLI'S CHOICE! Mike went into great detail why this episode is one his favorites. Is Duncan a Hero, or a Hypocrite? The episode PROMISES challenges Duncan Macleod's honor, pride and vanity. In this episode, Kevin and Mike bring you their very informative and descriptive COMMENTARY of... PROMISES.
Duncan saves the life of President Hamad, a visiting politician, whose assistant is Immortal Kassim. But it turns out Kassim was arranging the assassination of the cruel Hamad to allow Nasir, descendant of the Moorish kings Kassim served, to take over the government. Now Kassim wants Duncan to kill Hamad in order to repay an old debt that Duncan owes him. It's a promise that Duncan struggles to keep.

On tonight’s special we’re taking you back to when Max Rockatansky voyaged out of the Wasteland to battle Aunt Entity in Bartertown.
Bartertown is a city on the edge of a desert that has managed to retain some technology if no civilization. Max has his supplies stolen and must seek shelter there in a post apocalyptic world where all machines have begun to break down and barbarians hold what is left. He becomes involved in a power struggle in this third Mad Max film where he must first survive the town, survive the desert and then rescue the innocent children he has discovered.
Released in 1985 to the international market, this was the family friendly epic which made Mad Max a household name. Not bloody thirsty and adult like the previous ones, this took Max in a search for his humanity and purpose in life.

Week one is in the books and to say that Kevin and Kyle are feeling on different ends of the spectrum about their respective teams at this point would be a very true statement. This week they take a look back at Week 1 of the NFL season with an in depth look of the magic that happened on Sunday Night Football this week. Also discussing the fact the Bills might be the worst team in football, the Browns doing Brown things, the greatness of the Fitzpatrick beard and the fact Kevin thinks Tyreek Hill is still scoring touchdowns (which Kyle fully supports).
Then a look ahead into week 2 to see what games stand out and which games might require a nap.
Plus one of two new segments this week as Kevin and Kyle award the Jimmy GQ man crush player of the week!
Then there is of course plenty of the Endzone's Mediocore fantasy football advice as we look at who the hot wavier wire pick-up's are for week one!
Finally in the second new segment of the show Kevin and Kyle compare their head to head picks against each other.
The NFL is back an after week one it is good to know something's have not changed, Tyreek Hill still scores touchdowns and Derek Carr still throw's interceptions (Sorry Kevin it had to be done)

In July of 2018, your Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast co-host KEVIN REITZEL recently visited the UK with his fiancée ERIN, where they took a tour of Highlander filming locations in London and Scotland. When Kevin visited Edinburgh Scotland, he met up with author JONATHAN MELVILLE. Prior to Kevin's trip, Jonathan had graciously agreed to meet up for an exclusive Blood of Kings interview with Kevin once he arrived in Edinburgh.
Kevin met Jonathan at the Filmhouse Cinema & Café located in the beautiful downtown area of Edinburgh Scotland. Kevin recorded a live interview with Jonathan on is upcoming book about the original 1986 HIGHLANDER film. Johnathan teased many details about his new book which will include interviews with Highlander stars Christopher Lambert, Clancy Brown, director Russell Mulcahy and many more. Jonathan also gives new details about the deleted fight scene between The Kurgan and Yung Dol Kim. Jonathan also speaks about a possible cut scene which included another immortal mentioned in the earlier drafts of the Highlander script.

In July of 2018, Blood of Kings Highlander Podcast co-host KEVIN REITZEL and his fiancée ERIN GILL traveled to London England, and Scotland in search of filming locations from the original 1986 HIGHLANDER movie. Kevin and Erin specifically planed their UK tour around searching out popular, and in some cases, difficult to find filming locations of the movie that started it all. The original 1986 movie Highlander told the legend of immortals living, battling and taking each others heads throughout time, until the call of The Gathering brought them together where they dueled to the death because, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
With the help of Andy Sloan who provided a list of Highlander UK filming locations and their coordinates, Kevin and Erin's Highlander filming location tour took them to areas in and around London. Then their tour took them to many locations in Scotland such as Glencoe, Glen Nevis / Ft William, Glenfinnan, Silver Sands Beach Mallaig, Dornie and Torridon. Kevin and Erin's filming location tour covered many of the iconic Highlander scenes from the film like:
- The Church, where Connor and the Kurgan met on Holy Ground.
- The Parking Lot, the intro fight scene between Connor & Iman Fasil.
- The Battlefield, where the MacLeods battle The Kurgan and The Frasiers'
- Connor and Heather's Home'
- The Marketplace, where Ramirez warns Connor about leaving Heather because of his immortality.
- Loch Shiel Glenfinnan, where Ramirez teaches Connor about BALANCE and his immortality.
- Eilean Donan Castle, where The MacLeods start their march off to battle to meet the Frasiers.
- The Beach! This was the most important location for Kevin & Erin to find, since not many people have documented finding this hard to find beach, where Ramirez teaches Connor about the Spirit of the Stagg and The Quickening!

Culture Clash 97: Streaming, Picard, Repair and the Rock (Make it so!)
Kyle has had to effect some repairs on Kevin this week after his breaking caused by The Rock and the Jungle Cruise, but even with the limited tools and budget Kevin is set and ready to go with a few Improvements!

During Kevin's recent trip to Edinburgh Scotland, he met up with Jonathan to interview him regarding his new book, and found out Jonathan himself, is a true Whovian. So they sat down and talked about his favorite Doctor, companion as well as sharing a great David Tennant story that is a must listen.

This year Doctor Who was a featured panel in Hall H on the first day of the con, and weather we are talking about our new Doctor sporting the cover of the Comic Con preview issue of Entertainment Weekly or all of the announcements from Hall H. Including but not limited to the first full trailer for the new season, the announcement from new show runner Chris Chibnall that for the first season we will see no familiar monsters or the unveil of the new Sonic Screwdriver!
There was so much to cover and not only from the panels but the fact that Jodie herself was all over comic con including making unannounced appearances at event's at comic con. It is an exciting time and we here at Type 40 are here to talk about all the happenings! Geronimo!!!!!!!!!

Culture Clash 94: The Real "Co-Host's" Strike Back
Kevin is away on a special assignment so Kyle has been left all alone and due to some legal action by some guy named Taylor he has had to allow for the return of the "Real Co-Host's" (is that anything like the Real Ghostbuster's?) Michael Morris and Alex Autrey to return to their hosting duties.

In the episode of Blood of Kings, we look back at the episode that started the Methuselah's legend, with a retrospective of the Season 2 Episode "LEGACY". In this episode we are first introduced to Amanda's origins including the introduction of her mentor, master, and original keeper of the "Methuselah Stones", Rebecca Horne. Things get complicated when one of Rebecca's former students, Luther, kills her for one of the stones. Then Luther seeks out Rebecca's other students, whom she bestowed each with a separate stone in good faith, including Amanda. Luther seeks and legendary power of the Methuselah Stones, that are given to its holder when all of the stones are brought together.

The 2018 GI Joe Convention took place June 21-24 at the Chattanooga Convention Center, in Chattanooga Tennessee. Joe Con was celebrating its 25 wonderful years of conventions and GI Joe Fandom. But the celebration was a bit bittersweet, because it was also to be the last Joe Con. Although it was the last Joe Con, fans, exhibitors, and organizers spirits were still very high throughout the entire weekend.
To help celebrate this last Joe Con, Kevin Reitzel, cofounder of the Fandom Podcast Network and member of the GI Joe Finest, and his guest host Johnny Karzai, the Public Relations Officer for the Finest, decided to podcast live from the Marriott hotel on Friday night June 22nd. As it tuned out, this was the place to be for Joe Con fans and attendees. The party started at 8pm and the live podcasting started shortly after.
After a quick introduction, Kevin and Johnny started out with fantastic news about the Finest goals for its chosen charity "K9's For Warriors", that were celebrated at the Finest booth at Joe Con.
Then what came next, was a fantastic lineup of great guest interviews.
