As they circle back to reviewing Highlander: The Animated Series, Kevin and Norman take a deeper look at the next two episodes in the series line-up: The Courage Of Love and The Set up. Much to their surprise, Kevin and Norman have been growing more fond of Highlander the Animated series with each and every episode. So they decided to continue their journey with Highlander: The Animated Series with this SECOND part of a special TWO-PART retrospective of FOUR animated episodes. Kevin and Norman consider these Highlander: The Animated Series episodes as "New Highlander" for them, because they are both watching this for the very first time together!
The ultimate fight between good and evil continues as Quentin, Don Vincente Marino Ramirez, Clyde and Gaul seek out the Quickenings of the surviving Jettators which will allow Quentin to destroy Kortan, save the human race and restore peace to the world.

Episode 74: Highlander: The ONLINE Collectible Card Game & #SWORDXP Interviews
Like Kevin and Norm always say at the beginning of each and every Blood of Kings episode, "On this show, we cover all things Highlander..." and this episode is no exception!
Kevin and Norm are joined by The Immortal Cimoli's biggest fan and editor of Blood of Kings - Mr. Mike Sellers, along with Steven Phillip Rice, to discuss the HIGHLANDER ONLINE CARD GAME. Mike and Steven go in depth in their discussion and cover everything from the history of the collectible card game from 1995, to the first online version of the game that helped keep the fan base alive in the early 2000s, to where you can play the game TODAY with both real and VIRTUAL cards.
Also, Kevin and Norm had the opportunity to do a very fun and informative interview with #SWORDXP Musketeer Priscilla Manriquez and 2 time Sword XP veteran Tammy Buckner as they recount their adventures from the Lexington Kentucky Sword Experience on March 9th, 2018.

Episode 73: CIMOLI'S CHOICE - The Immortal Cimoli Part Two: The Commentary
Continuing their discussion from Episode 72, both Norman C. Lao and Mike Sellers dive even deeper with a LIVE...well recorded "live" commentary on Highlander: The Series THE IMMORTAL CIMOLI from Season Four.
During the commentary, both Norm and Mike discover so many nuanced and revealing character moments in the development of Danny Cimoli as he learns how to use and abuse his newly discovered immortal ability. Danny just wanted to have his moment in the literal spotlight. However this ignorance and immaturity towards THE GAME strained his relationships with Duncan and Amanda as they tried to give hime the tools and experience necessary to survive the violence of the immortal existence.
Norm and Mike also speculate on why Damon Case really IS NOT a villain and is quite possibly one of the purest "players of The Game" and represents the strictest nature of the rules as we understand them and how they apply to the classic adage of Highlander, "There can be only ONE!"

Welcome Highlander Fans to a very special Kingmakers Episode on Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast, here on the Fandom Podcast Network. We interview the amazing Elizabeth Gracen!
Recently on Blood of Kings episodes #70 & #71, we covered the Highlander The Raven two part episodes "A Matter of Time" & " The French Connection". Once again, our beloved Elizabeth Gracen takes center stage as AMANDA, our favorite mischievous cat-burglar from Highlander The TV Series. Kevin and Norman are proud to present this exclusive interview with star of Highlander The Raven, Amanda Darieux herself... Elizabeth Gracen!
In this exclusive interview, we talk to Elizabeth about her experience at the Highlander Worldwide Convention in Los Angeles last October of 2017. We also discuss her and Adrian's amazing performance in "Love Letters" at that convention. Then we dive deep into Highlander The Raven as Elizabeth talks about the production moving from Vancouver to Toronto, working with Helen Wu and learning the martial art of The Flying Rainbow Fan Kata. We keep discussing The Raven production with Elizabeth and working again with Jim Byrnes and Valentine Pelka. We also ask the big question... where does Amanda hide that sword?
But it wouldn't be a Highlander interview unless we talk to Elizabeth about her experience working on the original Highlander TV series. Norman and Kevin discuses the episodes that Amanda appeared in, and their favorites. Elizabeth also talk about her favorite episodes and moments from the Highlander TV series. And last but not least, we talk to Elizabeth about the many projects she's currently working on including the documentary about Lee Meriwether, Cat Woman from the 1966 Batman movie and former Miss America in 1954, the year of the first live telecast.

Episode 69: Highlander The Promise - Methos Audio Book
For centuries, they battled the forces of light, murdering, pillaging and terrorizing their way across the globe. Then, through the betrayal of one of their number, the Four Horsemen rode no longer. But before their ultimate end, each was the target of a very personal vendetta striking to the core of the Horsemen's seemingly unbreakable bond. Now the secret history of The Four Horsemen, Kronos, Silas, Caspian and Methos can finally be revealed...
In 2009 Big Finish Audio released the first season of four audio books on CD of their Highlander series, featuring Adrian Paul reprising his iconic character of Duncan MacLeod. In 2011 a second season of four audio books was released highlighting each of The Four Horsemen, featured in the Highlander TV show. And retuning to voice their iconic characters of The Four Horsemen, the actors who portrayed them, Valentine Pelka (Kronos), Richard Ridings (Silas), Marcus Testory (Caspian) and Peter Wingfield (Methos).
In this special episode of Blood of Kings, we feature a retrospective, and fondly look back at the fourth and final audio book of this series "The Promise" featuring Peter Wingfield as Methos. Written by James Moran, this story catches up with Methos after the events of The Four Horsemen, as he takes his own special revenge on an old immortal, by the name of Dilijan, that not only engineered the demise of the Four Horsemen, but also took the life of Methos one true love, Violetta. However, Methos is bound by "The Promise" he made to his dying Violetta, not to kill Dilijan. So the man once known as "Death", Methos plan of revenge is set in place which leads to a fate worse than death.

Here we are at our final episode dedicated to Highlander ENDGAME. Truth be told, it was because of a very special event that inspired Kevin and Norm to choose ENDGAME as their first podcast theme for the beginning of Blood of Kings Season Three. Kevin attended the Atlanta Sword Experience because it was advertised that a very special choreography FROM Endgame was going to be taught...and "could" be one of THE most memorable sequences in the history of Highlander...the final duel between Duncan and Connor MacLeod.
Kevin also was able to sit down with the Highlander himself ADRIAN PAUL for a fantastic interview on Adrian's ENDGAME memories as he even shared a few details of what is coming up for the #SwordXP. Kevin also had a chance to interview #SwordXP Musketeer extraordinaire Priscilla Manriquez, read a special message with his #SwordXP partner David Edwards and share an incredible Highlander life changing moment with new friend of the show D.J. Stokes.

This episode of Blood of Kings is dedicated to our amazing Blood of Kings Facebook FAMILY that has grown and evolved into something so incredibly special...
Welcome to the THIRD Endgame themed episode..."The Fans Have Spoken!"...recorded because the fan reaction to Blood of Kings Episodes 64 and 65 has been so voluminous and passionate! This reaction show started with a private message that Norm received from Highlander Heart's very own GRANT KEMPSTER, followed up almost immediately by Blood of Kings sister listener SHAN O' CONNOR; both of whom had so much to say and share about their ENDGAME reactions and experiences.
Kevin and Norm "thought" that they were finished with what was supposed to be a standard, two-part deep dive of Highlander: ENDGAME. In this podcast, Kevin and Norm enjoy deconstructing one of the most beloved films in Highlander Cinematic Universe, as ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING...25 years ago.
Please join your Blood of Kings team as they continue their "deep dive" study of ENDGAME, the fourth movie of the cult classic Highlander franchise. In this podcast, Kevin and Norm enjoy deconstructing one of the most beloved films in Highlander Cinematic Universe, as ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING...25 years ago.
However, not all went according to the general Highlander fandom's expectations. All of the pieces were in place for this film to succeed where the sequels Highlander 2: The Quickening (and its subsequent versions) and Highlander 3: The Final Dimension stumbled and many times failed to extend the legacy of what the first film achieved, cementing the epitaph "There Can Be Only One...FILM!". With several mis-fires in the theatrical version, Highlander ENDGAME, could have changed the paradigm for the future. However, fan expectation for this film in particular was incredibly high and the internet was becoming a viable tool to share much of the fans concerns...especially where the "rules of the game" - a staple element of the Highlander universe - were forcibly changed to usher in a "whole new ball game" as one of the characters stated.

Episode 64: Highlander ENDGAME: The Retrospective
In September of 2000, Highlander ENDGAME was released to world-wide audiences as the fourth movie of the cult classic Highlander franchise. This film was the very first appearance of Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod on the BIG screen, after enjoying a wonderful and successful 6 season run on the critically acclaimed television series of this same franchise. ENDGAME also marked the reunion of both Duncan AND Connor MacLeod who were last seen together on the television series premiere episode THE GATHERING, as Christopher Lambert reprised his iconic role of Connor MacLeod; the character that launched this franchise nearly 32 years ago in 1986.
However, not all went according to the general Highlander fandom's expectations. All of the pieces were in place for this film to succeed where the sequels Highlander 2: The Quickening (and its subsequent versions) and Highlander 3: The Final Dimension stumbled and many times failed to extend the legacy of what the first film achieved, cementing the epitaph "There Can Be Only One...FILM!". With several mis-fires in the theatrical version, Highlander ENDGAME, could have changed the paradigm for the future. However, fan expectation for this film in particular was incredibly high and the internet was becoming a viable tool to share much of the fans concerns...especially where the "rules of the game" - a staple element of the Highlander universe - were forcibly changed to usher in a "whole new ball game" as one of the characters stated.

One of the things that Kevin and Norm love most about having created the Blood of Kings Podcast, is the growth of the amazing HIGHLANDER Fan Community on Facebook and Social Media. Listener and fan interaction is incredibly important to promoting new discussions in all aspects of the Highlander universe. One BOK fan in particular, LEE FILLINGSNESS, won our very first iTunes Review contest and chose DUENDE as his fan-pick to be covered in this very special "two-parter" podcast deconstructing one of the most famous episodes in Highlander The Series: DUENDE.
Lee chose DUENDE for several special reasons. Welcome Highlander Fans to a very special Kingmakers Episode on Blood of Kings: A Highlander Podcast - here on the Fandom Podcast Network.
Earlier this fall, on the weekend of October 20th - 22nd, something extremely special and magical took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. HIGHLANDER fans from all over the world descended upon that hotel to take part in the 10th Highlander Worldwide convention called THE GATHERING, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the TV Series. From veterans, to newbies, the love and passion for the Highlander franchise was welcoming and infectious as old friendships were rekindled, new friendships blossomed and all were united under the banner of Highlander Worldwide.
Your Blood of Kings hosts Kevin & Norman welcomes the two people that were responsible for pulling off such an amazing event. Our special guests on the show are here to update this exciting news. We would like to welcome back:
• Carmel Macpherson, President of Highlander Worldwide and lead organizer of "The Gathering" A Highlander Convention"
• John Mosby: Author of "Fearful Symmetry, The Essential Guide To All Things Highlander"
As Kevin and Norman reflect on THE GATHERING with Carmel and John, and what it meant to the fans of Highlander. We cover many topics looking back on this very memorable event such as, the most challenging aspect of producing the convention, what planning details materialized for them easily, what didn't come to fruition no matter how hard they tried, What surprised them most about the convention, and what was the most consistent piece of feedback they received from the convention.
Carmel also gives us an update on the Go Fund Me Campaign for The Gathering Convention DVD production, including when the DVD will be ready for release. And Carmel also discusses the future for Highlander Worldwide and the website future updates.
Kevin and Norman save the big question for last for both John and Carmel...where do we go from here? What is next on the HLWW horizon and are they looking ahead to a potential HIGHLANDER 30th Anniversary convention??

On this episode of Blood of Kings, we will be discussing the "primary" weapons used in Season One of Highlander the Television Series. These weapons, specifically SWORDS were the most signature ways that Immortals were able to survive the game, as they use their weapon of choice, and the martial skills they learned over the course of decades, centuries…even millennia to behead their opponent and gain their Quickening. Many of these swords were actually sold through the Noble Collection and Museum Replicas catalogues in the early to late 1990's and were perfect reference materials when trying to identify these Immortals' swords when we, the fans, originally watched the series in it's original broadcast run.
However, in a duel to the death, not every element went according to an Immortal’s plan, or a code of honor, or they just plain NEEDED an IRON PIPE if there was one handy; i.e. whatever worked to get the job done. #teamrionpipe
We on Blood of Kings also have to give credit where credit is due and we HAVE to give a shoutout to Blood of Kings member DANIEL JACOB HORINE who has created one of the most comprehensive sword profile guides we have ever seen; which was used several times in our research as a reference to quantify and correlate certain swords and their corresponding immortal users and episode appearances. BRAVO DANIEL…your hard work is absolutely worthy of the highest praise!

About Adrian Paul: Adrian Paul is an actor renowned for his lead role, as Duncan MacLeod, in the action series Highlander. The show spanned 6 seasons, 117 episodes and ran in over 90 countries world wide. As well as starring in numerous action films, including two Highlander Films, he has also choreographed numerous sword fights and action sequences for both television and film during his 30 year entertainment career. During that time he also directed and produced TV and Film along with founding his own charity The PEACE Fund. (Protect, Educate, Aid Children Everywhere). The PEACE Fund has been in existence since 1997, helping improve the lives of children, in the US, Haiti, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Hungary and Romania. In June 2015, Adrian ran a Sword Experience workshop, to raise money for one of the children the PEACE Fund supported. The event went so well that Adrian decided to hold other similar events at venues across the US. At this once in a lifetime experience, Adrian will be hands on to pass on some of the knowledge he learned whilst working with world renowned action stars, stunt choreographers, and sword masters.

Released on February 22nd, 2017...Highlander: The American Dream #1 reunited us with many familiar characters from the original 1986 feature film.
On this very special episode of Blood of Kings - Kevin and our very special guests - Kyle Wagner (co-founder of the Fandom Podcast Network), and Mike Sellers (the Immortal Cimoli himself!) take a very in-depth look at the ENTIRE five issue run of Highlander: The American Dream. Episode 50: Norm’s BRAW Trip to SCOTLAND!
Kevin and Norm have reached EPISODE 50! FIFTY!! FIVE-OH!!! And...they have decided to celebrate with a SUPER-DUPER-SIZED feature interview covering Blood of Kings co-host Norman C. Lao’s BRAW trip to Scotland. Kevin began this trend…traveling to the Highlands and visiting so many special shooting locations in Scotland and we covered his trips in detail on Blood of Kings Episodes 7 and 8.
Now it is Norman’s turn to recount his (and Carol’s) tales of touring the magical country of Scotland. In his own personal words Norm summarized his feelings thusly, “This was the TRIP OF A LIFETIME! I am so humbled and grateful that I had the opportunity to visit Scotland and especially many of the places that are dear to my heart. This has been such a blessing and a gift and I owe so much of this trip to my lovely Carol who planned and organized a TON in preparation for this trip. The people are amazing, the food is incredible, the WHISKY of course is beyond amazing and plentiful...
...but it's the HISTORY that is just beyond words. This country has been wracked with war and strife and conflict and so much of that amidst all this natural beauty and wilderness is just an irony that only can be felt when you close your eyes and reach out with your senses...haunting...and beautiful at the same time. Thank you Scotland for sharing your soul with me. I look forward to seeing you again soon.”

On this very special CIMOLI’S CHOICE episode, we have the Blood of Kings editor extraordinaire Mike Sellers who was really excited to delve deeply into one of his favorite episodes of all time: Take Back the Night!
In his own words, “Not only am I a sword nut, but I'm a bit of a history buff. I didn't take classes in college, I went to art school. So any history knowledge I have picked up is from my own research. Give me swords, history and a strong female character and I'm all in.”
One of the key elements in this episode is the aspect of “Mortal versus Immortal FRAILTY” and how Immortals DO have the ability to weigh and judge and continue their crusades over the generations, whilst mortals who share their lives amidst the game are always in harm’s way. Like Ingrid in The Valkyrie...DO Immortals have the right to become judge, jury and executioner because they have the ability to risk more to do so? More importantly...have the time to maintain and foster that ever-burning grudge spanning decades if not centuries?

QUEEN is one of the most signature Rock and Roll bands of ALL TIME and certainly the most ICONIC within the world of HIGHLANDER. From their signature bombastic opening title track "Princes of the Universe" in March of 1986, QUEEN cemented their sonic legacy amidst the lore and legend of Highlander decades over with that very same thematic title song anchoring the historic six season run of the television series. It is almost impossible and unfathomable to think of the Highlander universe without their music at the center and as the heart and soul of the franchise.
In early 1986, QUEEN recorded the album A KIND OF MAGIC, containing several reworkings of songs written for the fantasy action film Highlander and the close collaboration between QUEEN, Highlander director Russell Mulchaey and original score composer Michael Kamen fostered an incredibly creative environment producing one of the greatest UNOFFICIAL movie albums of all time!

July 24th, 2017 was a pretty historic day. Kevin, fresh from a 16 hour flight from Australia, was whisked straight away from the hustle and bustle of the Los Angeles International airport, by his co-host Norm, so they could immediately embark on their incredibly important Watcher Field Assignment. Their adventures took them NORTH and deep into California Canyon Country all the way to one of the most beautiful areas that Kevin was visiting for the very FIRST time…RANCHO INDALO!!!
Yes, Blood of Kings fans…”THE” Rancho Indalo which is owned and operated by our very own beloved Highlander alumni Anthony DeLongis and his lovely wife Mary. Kevin and Norm had the great honor and opportunity to visit with Anthony, Mary and their doggies Rocky and Shadow…and their four horses!

In Fandom, we LOVE lists: BEST OFs, TOP TENs, FAN FAVORITES...you name it...we love ranking our fandoms and everything within those fandoms. On Episode 37: Getting to Know Your Hosts…Kevin and Norm played a game called DESERT ISLAND CHALLENGE and they decided to really expand the scope of this game for an entire podcast!
The rules of DESERT ISLAND CHALLENGE are really simple. The scenario is that you have packed up all of your worldly possessions and are sailing to a new land, similar to the Titanic, when disaster strikes and you only have ONE CHANCE to save only ONE CHOICE of...in this case All Things Highlander from sinking into the abyss. These choices will be the only choices you are allowed to toss into a lifeboat and live with for the rest of your life on a nearby Deserted Island. And yes...you will have a fully functioning entertainment there to enjoy your time alone LOL!
For this episode, we are going to start with the TELEVISION SERIES first because we feel that this is really much more difficult than the MOVIE SERIES because there are so many more options to choose from regarding just the television episodes. But fear not, in future DESERT ISLAND episodes, we will tackle all of the other areas of Highlander as well.

Hello Blood of Kings fans! Please enjoy a very informal discussion here at the place where everyone knows JOE’s name! Kevin and I finally had the opportunity to kick back here at Joe’s, ordered some snacks and drinks and FINALLY discussed my weekend at RANCHO INDALO which happened last November 18th-20th, 2016.
Anthony and Mary DeLongis’ Rancho Indalo IS a FULL ON training facility, set in Canyon Country right outside of Santa Clarita, CA (north of Los Angeles). They have 4 gorgeous horses at the ranch, for various riding programs and excursions. Anthony is fully equipped to train and teach all styles of martial arts with a variety of weaponry at his disposal. He is an extraordinary teacher and was able to communicate very quickly and efficiently with me, so that we could maximize the most out of our training sessions. Also...Mary DeLongis is the most AMAZING CHEF and her cooking is worth a trip to the ranch! Lastly, being able to meet Forged In Fire's DAVE BAKER who lives nearby was just the icing on the cake!
After listening to this show, I hope that I have inspired many of you to visit Rancho Indalo. It has made such a profound impact on me, not just because I am a fan of Anthony's work, but because it is such a lovely place to visit, run by two amazing people who have an incredibly deep and infectious passion for what they do. One of the things that Kevin and Norm love most about having created the Blood of Kings Podcast, is the growth of the amazing HIGHLANDER Fan Community on Facebook and Social Media. Listener and fan interaction is incredibly important to promoting new discussions across Highlander fandom.

One of the things that Kevin and Norm love most about having created the Blood of Kings Podcast, is the growth of the amazing HIGHLANDER Fan Community on Facebook and Social Media. Listener and fan interaction is incredibly important to promoting new discussions in all aspects of the Highlander universe. One BOK fan in particular, Jill Berticus, inspired Kevin and Norm to take a deeper look into one of Jill’s favorite episodes: Season 3’s SHADOWS.
After reviewing this episode, Kevin and Norm can easily see why Jill Berticus chose this as one of her favorites. This episode combines a great many aspects of what makes for a quality Highlander episode; especially the MORAL ambiguity haunting Duncan MacLeod and the guilt that John Garrick is able to tap into to drive Duncan towards the edge of his own sanity.
This episode also sheds a very pointed light on whether or not Immortals can indeed find happiness in a normal life whilst trying to survive within “The Game” as Duncan and Dr. Anne Lindsey’s blossoming relationship is put to the ultimate test: TRUST in each other.
