The Hair Metal Podcast cover bands that reached several levels of popularity and notoriety during the mid to late 1980's "Hair Metal" explosion. We take an in-depth look into the bands that defined the style and sound of Hair Metal, and many other bands that may or may not be categorized as Hair metal, but did reach some popularity during the Hair Metal rush of the 1980's.
Kevin Reitzel is your Hair Metal Podcast Host. Kevin has two special guests for this Hair Metal Podcast episode, please welcome...Johnny K. & Erin Gill!
The Dirt is a 2019 American biographical musical comedy-drama film directed by Jeff Tremaine from a screenplay by Rich Wilkes, about glam metal band Mötley Crüe. The film stars Douglas Booth, Colson Baker, Daniel Webber and Iwan Rheon. Talks of a Mötley Crüe biopic began as early as 2006, when Paramount Pictures and MTV Films purchased the rights to the book The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band by Neil Strauss. However the project then languished in development hell for over a decade, going through numerous directors and cast members before Netflix purchased the rights in March 2017. Filming began around New Orleans in February 2018. The Dirt was released digitally on Netflix on March 22, 2019.
Kevin, Johnny and Erin discuss many topics about Motley Crue's THE DIRT movie on Netflix:
- First Impressions
- The Director & Cast.
- Trivia on the movie and behind the scenes.
- Our personal experiences on meeting and seeing Motley Crue.
- Make up and costumes.
- The Music & Soundtrack.
- Did they do the book The Dirt justice?
- 10 Things & People that the movie The Dirt Left out.
- Our Favorite scenes, moments and lines.
- How Does The Dirt compare to other Band Movie Biopics?
Please enjoy this special episode of the Fandom Podcast Network's, The Hair Metal Podcast! Remember...every rose has its thorn, and on a steel horse... we will ride! HAIR METAL LIVES! Rock on everyone!

Your Blood of Kings host Kevin Reitzel would like to welcome special guest, a newcomer to Highlander, and the Highlander TV series, Robert Bapst!!
Robert Bapst is a long time friend of your Highlander Blood of Kings Podcast host Kevin Reitzel. Robert Bapst is somewhat new to Highlander fandom. With Kevin's guidance, Robert dove head first into his new experience of the Highlander legacy, and marathoned the entire first season of the Highlander TV series. In this very special episode of the Blood of Kings Podcast, we interview Robert about his impression of the first season of the TV series and what he thinks of the Highlander mythology thus far. Join us for this very interesting discussion into a beginners perspective of the Highlander universe. For the record, Robert Bapst is now a huge Highlander fan, is beginning to marathon season 2!
Here are some of the Highlander topics that Kevin discusses with Robert:

- Why did Robert dive into Highlander?
- Robert's 1986 Highlander movie reaction

The Hair Metal Podcast cover bands that reached several levels of popularity and notoriety during the mid to late 1980's "Hair Metal" explosion. We take an in-depth look into the bands that defined the style and sound of Hair Metal, and many other bands that may or may not be categorized as Hair metal, but did reach some popularity during the Hair Metal rush of the 1980's.
Bang Tango was one of those bands that were on the edge of approaching super stardom during the Hair Metal scene in the late 80's. Bang Tango was formed in 1988 in Los Angeles by guitarist Mark Knight and bassist Kyle Kyle in 1988. Knight recruited a second guitarist Kyle Stevens. Soon after vocalist Joe Leste' joined the band as its front man which led to Leste's childhood friend, Tigg Ketler, completing the 5 piece line up as Bang Tango's drummer.
Bang Tango's initial release, a live EP titled Live Injection came out in early 1989 leading up to the release of their Howard Benson produced full-length debut Psycho Café which topped off at number 58 on the Billboard top 200 chart. The music video for the single Someone Like You was a popular staple on early 90's MTV programming such as Dial MTV and Headbanger's Ball. A video was also made for the single Breaking Up a Heart of Stone. The band would tour extensively during this period with the likes of Cheap Trick, LA Guns, Ratt, and Bulletboys. Bang Tango's next album releases was Dancing on Coals in 1991, then followed up by Love After Death in 1993, which never was released by MCA because the band was dropped by the label.
In June 2011, the band had met Drew Fortier, for whom they offered to shoot a studio documentary while they recorded their then new record Pistol Whipped in the Bible Belt. This project would then become expanded upon once Fortier had been put in contact with previous members of the band as well as its founding members. Over the course of 4 years Fortier would turn the project into a feature length documentary titled "Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie". The film features interviews with all original members of the band as well as most of the players who have performed in the band since its inception.
Reviews of the film were positive. The general consensus is that despite its low budget, the film still manages to get its point across in an unbiased, artistic, and engaging manner while being able to appeal to not only fans of the band or genre, but to anyone not familiar with Bang Tango.
You can find Drew Fortier's movie "Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie" on YouTube here:
You can find Drew's Book "Dark, Depressing, and Hilarious: My Bittersweet Journey In and Out of the Music Business" here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1718106394/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_i_c_c.NGCbJBHPFTN
Kevin is honored to have and his guest Drew on this special podcast to discuss Kevin's favorite band of all time, and Drew's movie "ATTACK OF LIFE: THE BANG TANGO MOVIE" Kevin and Drew discuss many topics in this episode:
- Drew's musical influences.
- What bands Drew played with.
- How did Drew end up playing with Bang Tango.
- What inspired Drew to do a documentary about Bang Tango.
- Drew's experience interviewing the original members and the guests and fellow musicians speaking on the behalf of Bang Tango.
- What was the most challenging and rewarding parts of making the Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie.
- Drew talks about the Bang Tango super fan that ended up singing the whole set for the band one night.
- What are Drew's favorite Bang Tango songs to listen too and play live.
Kevin would like to thank his very special guest... DREW FORTIER!

Welcome to DiscoVille where we discuss both Star Trek DISCOvery AND The OrVILLE here on the Fandom Podcast Network. This week the crew of the DiscoVille takes a look at The Orville S02 E07 - "Deflectors"
Kevin, Amy, Hayley and Kyle discuss many topics for the episode "Deflectors".
- First reactions and some episode trivia
- New and returning characters, including the Bruce Willis voiced Groogen, The Katrudian "flower alien".
- Main plot and sub plot reactions. The ship's deflectors upgrade leads to conflict between the Moclan culture and the crew. Locar tells Talla that he’s attracted to her (which is unexpected, since Moclan’s are an all male species). Some, Locar says, are attracted to females, but they’re not allowed to say out of fear of imprisonment.
- Klyden's bigotry and judgmental attitudes. The Moclan's society reflects this.
- Our favorite scenes, quotes, and other episode observations.
In subspace signals we discuss:
- Will The Orville be renewed for Season 3?Operation Orville Pickle Delivery is Launched! (Via The Orville Reddit)
- Fox's 'The Orville' Flies Into Comics This July.
- Creating the Starfleet 2256 Jacket. Volante Design leader designer takes fans behind the creation of the company's new Discovery-inspired jacket. http://www.startrek.com/news/creating-starfleet-2256-jacket- Fans responses to the recent episodes of The Orville and Star Trek Discovery.

Welcome to the Culture Clash your home for Fandom News, Reviews and whatever crazy we can come up with! In this weeks show Kevin and Kyle are a bit all over the map as they talk Captain Marvel expectations, why we are loving The Orville, the new Game of Thrones trailer, possible Ghostbuster casting news as well as some of the recent comments from Mark Hamill and the rumors going around that Lucas was brought in to "fix" Luke. Finally we take the time to remember Luke Perry who passed away at a much to young 52.
In Buy it, Stream it or Unsee it Kyle talks about How to Train your Dragon 3, Kevin discusses the Encore edition of A Star is Born and the new Amazon show Widow.
For Cult Classic or Guilty Pleasure Kevin discusses the 1999 film the 13th Warrior while Kyle puts one of the more infamous films in hollywood history as it lead to the retirement of a film legend, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The Endzone: The AAF Special
That is right the NFL season may be over and Kevin and Kyle might still be in recovery from the most epic episode of The Endzone ever. But emerging from the dog days of nothing going on in the NFL is the latest offseason professional football league the AAF! Following in the footsteps of the USFL, The World League of Professional football, NFL Europe, the Arena League and the XF....wait that is coming back. The AAF is looking to create there own place with some familiar faces on the sidelines and giving players who are looking for a chance to get back into the NFL a place to do that. (The NFL is watching this league closely). Join us as we talk about our thoughts on this new league and Kevin discusses his recent trip to watch the Birmingham Iron play with our friends Murf and Uncle Mosh from Raider's Fan Radio as well as a joint podcast crossover interview with members of the Birmingham City Council who were a very gracious host to that crew of Raiders fans (Kyle doesn't understand why).
Don't worry though we still have NFL news to talk about from Antonio Brown, the combine and so much more, and while they may not kick extra points in the AAF we will as always lead you to THE ENDZONE!

Culture Clash Movie Special: Alita: Battle Angel
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
Every now and then a movie comes along that we at the FPNet all start talking about and Alita: Battle Angel is one of those films that warrants one of those discussions.
Join FPNet Co- Founders Kyle Wagner and Kevin Reitzel along with FPNet newcomer Evelyn "Evil" Hamlett (who like Kyle is a huge anime fan) as they discuss their thoughts on this film that has people talking in both the positive and the negative.
In this special we will discuss the History of Battle Angel: Alita from it's start as a Manga, then to the OVA animation as well as the long history it took for James Cameron to get this film made. We will also discuss the world of Alita and how true we felt it was to the source material. We discuss our favorite moments of the movie, what some of our issues with it might have been, what we hope for if there are sequels made and what made this movie stand out. Even though it seem to have quite the split in reactions to it, Battle Angel seems to have carved out a very interesting place in the current fandom.
Join us as we pull from the trash heap our special look at Alita: Battle Angel!
